Yes, but - the order and pay by phone ruins the overall experience of Mudgies. Can’t ask an app about the menu. Spent 10 minutes looking on the interface to order an ice tea. Figured it was my lack of finding the menu. Had to flag someone down to learn they were out of ice tea. All those things a server would tell you. But alas you don’t get. So good food, crappy experience! Lower your expectations, taking on the McDonald’s approach, sad really. Oh and if you want an item on the side they charge extra for that?! And with this order system no one asked me how my lunch was- or if I needed anything. So my sandwich was cold and sat awhile before it was quickly dropped at my table. I am so bummed - loved this place. The good news is there are now a ton of amazing options for lunch in Corktown. I recommend tipping much less because you are really on your own.

We visited Mudgie’s late in the day on their host day for Sandwich Week. The food is always fantastic here but what truly stands out is the level of service. We were truly touched by the amount of effort and care these people provide. We knew we were late in the day and they were out of a few things as everything is fresh. The host took a great deal of time to run through the menu and made sure that the 12 year old we had with us felt fully taken care of. He ordered a grilled cheese and he likes to dip in ketchup. As they make their own and it was a busy day , they were out of ketchup but moments later, our server came by with some. The server had run to another restaurant in the area to make sure this young guy had his ketchup with his grilled cheese. Thank you to Mudgie’s staff for a great experience

The service here and experience are things to avoid. They provide a QR code to a menu that just seems to endless scroll with no real division between item types. This makes it very difficult to be able to compare two or more items that look interesting to order. When you arrived you will walk past 4 doors and finally into what seems like an alley way to find the "main" entrance. After entering we found an empty shop filled with wine (not what we were looking for) and then after searching around one of the staff finally said that they would be with us in a minute. When someone finally came they looked at us like why are you even here. When I said 2 they proceeded to count the other people behind us and then said they dont have tables for 2. Then we asked "what about outside?", which was replied with "I guess". Once we placed our order we got asked if we had placed every single order that came outside, like they had no clue who had ordered what. Once we ordered it took over half an hour to actually get our food.
Now as for the food. It was okay, but definitely not worth the $16 dollars. We got the Sho’Nuff and the madill. The shonuff was on the sweet side and thankfully we didn't get it with the cream cheese, because that would just have whipped out any flavor this sandwich had. The madill was a normal turkey bacon avocado sandwich, and the garlic mayo they put on it is so faint you will not notice it.

Chicago foodie here making a trip to Detroit for Fred Again’s tour. So glad I stopped by Mudgie’s. Hands down one of the best sandwich shops I've ever been to! From the atmosphere to the food, everything here is top-notch. I ordered "The Gutty," and wow, it was easily the best thing I've had in a long time. The sandwich was stacked high with tender meat, crispy bacon, and melted cheese, all packed inside a soft, golden bun. It was a flavor explosion with every bite, and the portions were more than generous.

I also loved the vibe of the place. You can tell Mudgie's has earned its title as one of "The Best Sandwiches in America" for a reason—this place has personality and food that backs it up. They’ve been recognized by The Food Network and won “Best Sandwich Shop” multiple years in *Hour Detroit*. Their commitment to quality really shows, and it’s clear they put their heart into every sandwich.

Attached are some photos of my meal that speak for themselves: the mouth-watering Gutty and another sandwich, the Madill, that was equally impressive. The sides—chips and pickles—were fresh and added the perfect touch to an already amazing meal. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a must-stop spot for anyone who loves a seriously good sandwich!

The staff was very accommodating and kind. Our server checked on us several times. Everything was tasty though wish we had known the Cuban was made with pulled pork instead of sliced pork....The pulled pork was tasty just not what was expected on the sandwich, as have always had it with sliced pork. The broccoli salad was divine for sure. Will definitely be back as well as recommend it to others.
