I have not visited Mudgies for several years. Decided to treat two close friends to lunch. All of us ordered the corned beef. One member of my party only ate half of his sandwich. To much fat on his sandwich rather than lean corned beef. My sandwich was similar and only ate half. Flavor and texture was not good either. I got the Gutty with double meat. As you can see it’s huge. My second time here and the food was great: the service was decent. Went in at 12:30pm during the height of lunch on a Wednesday and there was a film crew making an ad for the restaurant I assume. Bad timing in my opinion. People were standing over tables trying to get their angles while people are eating their food which was rude. Should have been done after 3pm or after hours. This outside of that good experience.
If you're in Detroit downtown area, you HAVE to come having a sandwich at Mudgie's.

Just approaching the restaurant, you'll feel the different vibes of this place, it's a bit hippie and a bit literary youth.

Definitely have to order their Multi-Meat Signature Sandwiches, which served in burger format with housemade potato chips and pickles (yes, housemade pickles).
