We stopped in at the State Bar & Grill for a few drinks and a bite to eat prior to going to a Red Wings game. We got there about a couple of hours before the game started and managed to get a table. The service was fast and friendly and in no time we had our drinks in front of us. We all had burgers and fries which were very tasty and reasonably priced.
The State Bar is no longer... New name, (Imperial) their second franchise. One in Ferndale, now a second one in the Detroit Downtown area. Directly across from the Comerica (Ball Park). Imperial at Woodward and Elizabeth is {Still under construction at the present time.}
Overall had a great time. The atmosphere was great lots of people there for the concert next door. Food was good the waitress was awesome. She was really good at explaining the Fillmore procedure for lining up for entry to these "newbies" as well as filling our orders. The bartender wasn't as cool,but it was super busy. Loved looking at all the pictures they have on the walls.
