This is our go-to restaurant at the MGM Detroit and it served up another winner last week. It has been getting busy at times but the staff is always friendly and helpful and there is usually space at the bar. Food is solid and the games are always on TV. It’s a one stop shop before and after attending events downtown. We’ll keep going to TAP!!
Parking: Prime location right inside the casino close to the entrance / exit and conveniently near the Sportsbook

We dined in for lunch one day and breakfast the next. Our server for lunch was awesome and the food was delicious!!!! Breakfast was the complete opposite. The waitress was probably one of the least helpful and attentive that we’ve ever had anywhere. My order was for eggs over medium, bacon - not crisp, hash browns extra well done - with no white. My eggs were cooked well done, bacon strips were burned, hash browns were nearly completely white. If I was a server, I would never have even delivered it to the table. Our waitress couldn’t have cared less and barely acknowledged what we said. Then she charged us for another table’s bill. If our previous experience hadn’t of been so positive, they never would have received ghe 3 stars I rated them!

This place is a hit or miss with the service. Food is good but good luck if you're at the bar because they will chit chat in front of you but won't come over to greet and take your order. I was sitting there for a bit hoping someone would notice me. I got up and left to go to the to go side.

We both had the cheese burger with fries and we both enjoyed our dinner. We also had a free appetizer from playing Pop Slots. We ordered garlic parmesan wings and they were very good. The service was excellent and we will definitely eat here again.

My recent visit to MGM Grand Tap was nothing short of outstanding! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and vibrant, setting the perfect tone for a memorable evening.
I ordered the Salmon Pasta, which was absolutely divine—cooked to perfection with a flavorful blend of spices and a creamy sauce that complemented the tender salmon beautifully. My wife enjoyed the Shrimp and Steak, a dish that struck the perfect balance of surf and turf excellence. Each bite was a testament to the culinary expertise of the kitchen team.
Our waitress, Dorothy truly elevated our experience with her warm and attentive service. She ensured our every need was met with a smile, making us feel valued and welcome throughout the evening. Additionally, the restaurant manager, Kelley, went above and beyond, greeting us personally and checking in to make sure everything was to our liking. Her professionalism and genuine kindness did not go unnoticed. I highly recommend MGM Grand Tap to anyone seeking exceptional food and service. We will definitely be returning soon!

The MGM Tap used to be good. I’m here now, I will not be coming back! The service was nonexistent- no shame to the servers/bartenders they were short handed., waited for 30 mins at the bar, then left since no one helped us,, came back 2 hrs later,, omg the food 🤢. They can’t get a burger right! A $20 burger was terrible!! And I would have ordered something else but the menu is very scarce, especially after 10pm. My 17 yr son makes a better burger without trying. Save your money for Macdonald on the way home.. I do not eat fast food but I’d rather eat McDonalds than the tap at MGM. The cocktail was good.. 6 out of 10

I like Tap nice spot but every time I order their chili it taste very good, but four out of five times it comes out either cold or hardly warm. When it comes out hot it's great.
The other major disappointment is every time Ive been the backside of the bar is closed.????
They have more than enough people to service it, but for whatever reason I guess they just don't like making money they close the backside of the center bar. You could sit at many of the high tops and wait and wait and wait for service....
Server told us we had to show proof of the credit card being ours in order to pay with the card. After telling them we are guests of the hotel and have just spent over $10,000 on the card today alone the manager backed off. I have never been racially profiled like this in my life.

Food was good, price a lil up there, had to wait approximately 3-5 mins to be seated when no one else was waiting, but everything turned out good. Laid back, chill vibes, loads of people chillin watching the game! Overall nice experience!
