Stopped here before seeing Herbie Hancock and can't rave enough! Happy hour deals on point. Cajun pasta was delicious. Hubs had the salmon burger which was pretty good... BUT Drinks were strong and our server Tyra was terrific. Special shout out to the sweet potato cheesecake! I'm not a dessert person and STILL it was irresistible. Will definitely come back to try the spare rib fries.

Ended up here before a concert across the street at The Majestic because it was too cold and windy to walk to our original planned restaurant. Well, I must thank the weather because this place was amazing! Great drinks and food, and a great happy hour menu. Highly recommend!

We had a girl’s trip from Grand Rapids to Detroit. We chose brunch at The Block and they did not disappoint! The ladies and I were treated so well and they even gave us a special shout out with a toast to our sisterhood! The music, food, drinks and atmosphere was amazing! Our entire group of 7 ladies left completely satisfied and upbeat. The hospitality was unmatched. We will definitely be back very soon ???

The food, drinks and vibes were amazing here! Highly recommend the shrimp & cheesy grits. It tasted so fresh & delicious! There was also a live band with great music and beats. Friendly and good service.
My family & I came in for a birthday celebration with a 2:15 reservation. The website states that each party is allowed an hour and 45 mins per reservation. We were seated at 2:30, ordered food by 2:45 and everything was going good until we were told at 3:15 that they closed at 3 and we needed to leave. The plan was to come & have brunch with a couple rounds of drinks during the hour and 45 mins that their website says we would have. Instead we were cut off from ordering anything else and asked to leave not even 30 mins after receiving our food. Why allow a 2:15 reservation if we have to leave at 3? Won’t be returning.
The Block is always a vibe. From the Live DJ at Brunch, to the drinks and of course the food! The spinach dip is my absolute favorite go to for a shareable item! Can't forget the succulent French toast served with fresh berries paired with chicken wings fried naked. 10 out of 10 experience every time!
The staff was really nice, the food was good. I was so mad they were out of the short rib fry because they are sooo good but the waitress suggested the short rib taco and it did not disappoint. A few of the guests around were really loud and a bit annoying but overall, the block was a really good time.
The ambiance was nice as always, the Dj plays the right tracks to enjoy the day. I had the shrimp and grits which is typically my go to but the grits was extremely spicy. The grits are cooked with jalapeño cheddar but it was more of a black pepper spicy than cheese. I think it was just a one off with the grits not being that good. However, I would always recommend this place because of the food, drinks and culture.

Everyone enjoyed the food. Service was ok, nothing special. This is the second time I have eaten here and it is very noisy. This time one employee ( had a Block shirt on ) was singing at his table and then came to ours and tried to sing to us. It was a little disruptive to our conversation. Overall this place is very loud and it's hard to hear the conversation in a group of six. I would go back if they could somehow tone down the noise situation.
