Somehow I forget to frequent The Greek more often. A restaurant that has unforgettable vibe, food and best of all service. Chessala, (I hope I spelled that right)was amazing and thoughtful providing great suggestions and laughs. She kind of makes you feel like you're family making sure every detail was on point. The hubby and I shall return soon. Can't wait for the patio street.😊

Late on a Monday night I stopped in to The Greek in September 2025. Monroe St. is completely torn up, chainlink fencing lines both sides of the street, with relatively narrow sidewalks. There was no one in the bar/restaurant, nor the street! The road reconstruction and widening of the sidewalks is supposed to finish by Summer 2026, but until then this project is killing Detroit's Greektown!
I had a fattoush salad, moussaka with a side of potatoes, and a glass of Kouros red table wine. The 2 wait staff were kind and efficient. My salad was ok, and the moussaka arrived luke warm to cold. I asked for the food to be heated up. Awhile later my food arrived again, at least hotter than before. The eggplant skin was tough, the potatoes were supposed to be lemon & rosemary seasoned and they were bland and unappetizing, and there was way too much salt in the mousaka. I wouldn't recommend this place for food, but there's a full bar and the entire front wall of windows opens to the street which is great for about 6 months a year.

I will never forget my experience at this restaurant. I was visiting a friend who insisted we go here and I am so glad. Christina and Chessela (sp?) were amazing hosts/servers. We had the stuffed grape leaves, the chicken lemonato, greek salad with lamb and Ouzo.

A charming little spot in Greektown. Food was great, ambience good and the service excellent. Was there on a busy Saturday evening a few weeks back with a friend.
We were served by a wonderful hostess - Chessala. She really took care of us, gave advice on what we could try, was patient and pleasant from beginning to end. The staff in general was efficient and attentive.
A definite must do again👌🏾🙂.

I was there on a slow Wednesday night. Plenty of seating, service was excellent. I ordered and received my food quickly. I thought the fresh cut fries were some of the best I have ever had pass on the ketchup and dip those in the Taziki sauce. I got the combo plate. The chicken kabob was moist and flavorful, the gyro meat was shaved off a cone, it was good not the best.
The bathroom was very clean, I thought the rest of the restaurant was clean. I would go back.

SOOOO good! After a long difficult weekend we walked from our hotel to this amazing little restaurant. The service was 10 star and the food was equally as good. We treated ourselves to appetizers drinks and entrees, and of course, baklava. Best meal I've had out in quite a while and much needed so thank you so much!

I come to Detroit probably 20 times a year and this is a must stop every single time. The service is quick! The drinks are great! The gyros are delicious!! Fantastic experience every single time!
This is a favorite spot for my fiance and I when we go in for date night and go in on weekends. We always sit at the bar and the service is so amazing.
However tonight we had a family get together for my fiancés birthday! Btw we didn’t mention that because we were there for good food not anything free. We strictly came here because we love it so much annd bragged about how good it was at this spot so we sat against the wall and got a different server who was too young or something because she acted like we were too complicated when ordering our meal. I apologized about how particular we were and we tipped very well on top of the gratuity. She had a bit of an attitude with us. We asked for a box; boxed some food to take for another family member who was really excited to try the meal since they were at work and could not make it but when we got back from the bathroom she had it thrown out and said there was nothing she could do.
I will be back but to our family that we bragged about the place to, was completely not satisfied and lost potential customers. Wish we had our normal server this would have totally been avoided 👎🏼
So basically great place but hopefully you get the right server! Because no matter what you spend, certain girls will not make your experience what it should be :/

Love the Greek for their food, service and atmosphere. We usually go for lunch and their options are healthy and large. Just be aware that if you order fries with your meal since the server will ask but won’t tell you they’re extra. Fries are like $6! But overall atill under $30 per person in total. Also they tack on a service charge. Not complaining just letting you know.
