Roost is a nice local coffee shop with friendly staff and good food. We're only in Detroit for the weekend but would be regulars if we lived locally.

Great spot/environment in terms of coffee shops! Owner and employees are always friendly and welcoming, and just a nice place to have in the Detroit community. Wifi may or may not be working depending on the day, but still giving it a 5 star for all the good this place has to offer, totally recommend!!

This place has become a Woodbridge neighborhood institution. The owners are always friendly, clever, and ready for great conversation when they're in the shop, and the other staff that are there balance excellent espresso-making with being courteously social. I walk by every morning when I take the kids to school, and there's almost always somebody waving at us through the window. I also head over there when I need to get a little work done in the evenings, and it's always the right move. Love this place.

What an honor to be able to write a review for The Roost! Come! Try it for yourself and you will be grateful you found this hidden gem.The Roost’s employees will greet you with kindness and joy. They are patient and personable. They make each order individually and with much care. I love the sounds of the shop, the steamer and the espresso machine! They add the best ingredients and have various alternative milks of that is your preference. The prices are very reasonable. The Roost Baked GOODS! I generally would get the chocolate chip peanut butter cookie or the kitchen sink cookie, because they are cookies out of this world! One day, I decided to try coffee cake with sliced apples inside. It was literally, easily, the best coffee cake I have ever had.Another day, I tried some of the bread pudding accompanied with blackberries, raspberries, and a heavenly sauce. Again! The best bread pudding I have ever had! Why? Because The Roost’s owner is a professional chef and baker! So you are not getting something generic or store bought, you are getting something homemade with expertise and love!I will try to get pictures, the next time I indulge!Enjoy!!!

Best customer service in Detroit. The owner will learn your name and make your dream cup of coffee. Family and dog friendly with free water for all.

Wake up with The Roost and get your coffee as early as 6am! The staff are so welcoming, combined with a personal feel when dinning in, makes the Roost feel like you’re in your own nook.

The coffee we were served today was definitely not cappuccino, no foam at all, and it had some kind of clumps at the bottom. The worst I've ever tried
