Incredible whiskey selection, unparalleled cigar service, and home to Detroit's Official Liverpool Supporters Club! There's no better place in Michigan to watch a European or USA soccer match.

Went there to watch sports for game day. Nessa our server proved to be very special and capable.

We had the privilege of meeting Eric (owner) who was a gracious host.

We travel for NFL games all over and this is best time we’ve had

I came here expecting to get food and a soda, I don't drink, but they don't serve food so hard to review here.

Bartender are very friendly and fast.

Place is very clean with good atmosphere.

Updated: After review of the owner’s reply below, I changed my review to 4 star. As I mentioned previously this was my mistake, and will change the way to deal with it in the future.
Thank you Erick for the clarification, this makes sense to me. Nonetheless I still think the bartender should always ask customers whether they would like to keep the card or a tab open, and not always assume the customer knows the routine, or the minimum fee for the bar… I did enjoy the atmosphere and the time I spent there, hence my new rating after the owner’s explanation.

Fantastic neighborhood bar in eastern market. But the neighborhood is the whole world! Magee’s is as Detroit as it gets, but its community of family and regulars reaches around the planet. Everybody’s there. Best service in the city - even when they’re at capacity. And the best Irish coffee in all the land. Deep whiskey menu. And great tap selections - and they have their beer tap system cleaned and serviced religiously, so it’s the coldest and freshest beer you can get. If you’re visiting Detroit and especially if you’re staying downtown, go to Magee’s. Great place to watch any sport. And great DJs all the time. They don’t serve food, but there’s food all over eastern market and you can bring anything in. It sounds like I’m writing an ad for the place, but it’s all true. I’ve been a regular at Magee’s for 10 years. And I work in bars so I know when a bar sucks and this one doesn’t. Go Lions!

Its a place id never been to before so i went. I won't return. They seem to have a good patio but the interior is a lot like the exterior. The bar keep was good. Pretty pricy for what it is. There certainly are better choices.

The waitstaff was very rude, doesn’t smile, doesn’t like it when I say I pay cash instead of putting it on the tab. Not friendly when we ask where we can sit at the bar.
We left the bar and went somewhere else. Not worth your time or energy to go to this bar.

Atmosphere and the people we met were good, but the manager was terrible. We had a reservation for a table and her assistant manager admitted that he made a mistake with our reservation and he accidentally put us at a table with strangers without telling us. At the end of the night the manager came up to us suddenly and she made a scene saying “I want you to know how entitled you must be to think I would put you four at a table by yourselves”.

She was the worst and rudest manager we have ever seen and we will definitely never be coming back here.

Came in for 1 beer and stayed talking to the staff all day! Liverpool owner so all the futbol games were on, beer and vibes were top notch.
