Unpretentious neighborhood bar nestled in between Huntington Place and LCA. My favorite place.

Tommy's is a neighborhood joint with an eccentric staff and lots of regulars. Chill vibes, good music, sports on TV, decent wings, yummy buttered popcorn, and Steven makes a great margarita. This is generally a beer and a shot type of a place, but he felt like making margs, and we felt like drinking them. Simple, lime, not stingy with the tequila. We also had the jalapeno poppers which were pretty dang yummy and made with fresh jalapenos. Nice. The wings are seasoned nicely and have a good sauce; not too spicy, and large.

If you're looking for interesting conversation, you will get it here. It's divey, but the bathrooms are very clean and the place seems well managed. Lots of history, and they have a back room where a larger group could easily gather.

Sometimes you need to go to the bar to order food and drinks, even if there is waitstaff - sometimes it gets really jammed when games are happening or conventions let out from Cobo. Be patient, be nice, have a good time.

First time here. It's walking distant from Cobo. We meet Tommy and talked to him for quite a while.
Food was delicious. Jody our waitress was attentive and entertaining.
We found out that Tommy's offers a free shuttle to sporting events in Detroit.

Stopped in with my Dad. Tommy was hanging around the bar, service was good, bargoers were very nice. They had some pretty cool photos on the wall.

It's a sports bar in the city with a classic vibe.

My husband, myself and some friends were in town for a concert and this place was great! Great music, great staff, great vibes and amazing food. The history of the building is also very cool. We ended up stopping by before *and* after the show. Thanks!

Tommy's is a Gem. The prime are what makes this place a must do if you are in the D. They offer free shuttle to the game. So I suggest some appetizers and drinks before the game and definitely a cocktail or two after the game to allow the traffic to die off before heading home. Remanded to drink responsibly or have a DD.
