Food Zone Chinese Restaurant

I grew up in the greater New York City area, where we have some of the greatest food on the planet. I will tell you that when it comes to Chinese food, this restaurant did not disappoint. The food is outstanding! The restaurant is clean and the service is good. I do need to tell you, however, that you may encounter a language barrier, so be aware of that particularly when it comes to discussing your order. This place is authentic in every way! By the way, the lunch menu is outstanding, and the prices are unbelievably affordable.

My wife order takeout, when she complained about the order being wrong, the staff did not understand that she didn’t want what they gave her since it wasn’t what she wanted. They finally said they would refund her money, but not only is that charge on my card, somehow they added an additional 11.12. I will dispute the charges. Problem is the staff apparently doesn’t speak English!! We won’t be back!

I usually do takeout from FZ and the food is a little better than average to good. However, everytime I've eaten in, (over 7 times) the food is terrible. I dont know why this is, but it's always too salty. Always a disappointment when dining in. Always better with take out. So if it's your first time, think about doing take out.

My family and I have been eating at FZ since we moved to Dexter in 2017. We've never eaten inside, always takeout, but the food is delicious (my son's love it too) and if they make the very rare mistake, they make it right! They once forgot a small side of white rice and offered to deliver it or give me credit. They delivered the rice and gave me extra for the trouble. Good food, great service, amazing people!

We’ve been ordering from Food Zone for years. They were generally pretty reliable and the food quality was great. Now, though, that’s all changed. I ordered Almond chicken. It was absolutely horrible. It was essentially extremely salty chicken pieces that had a weird texture. The rest was a LOT of celery and ZERO almonds. I don’t know if there’s new ownership, or what. We’re over it.

The food was wonderful! We had a variety of dishes and they accommodated our large group (12) easily and were on top of the food and drinks the entire time. It was great!

Don’t know what the other people are talking about, giving it one star. This place is amazing, especially for being family owned. the waitress was amazing. Absolutely love the place, definitely coming back for the amazing food. And if you don’t like it, you’re delusional.

Ordered the Mongolian beef tonight. Basically, I received a bowl onion and some unseasoned beef in a sauce.. but mostly onion. Did not taste great. Here is a photo of what you served and what everyone else's looks like. $14.99...

A friendly and inviting Chinese restaurant in Dexter, Food Zone is a favorite of ours!

We often go there after working out at the Dexter Wellness Center or when we’re visiting Dexter.

The food is delicious and satisfying, the staff Is extremely warm and friendly, and the restaurant itself is very clean, nicely decorated, and spacious!

We’ve been going about once every week and always have a great experience!

Lastly, They have very fair prices and the lunch specials in particular are very reasonable, Hence the reason we can go as frequently as we do!

Worth spreading the word! BRAND NEW owners, exceptional experience! The kindness and delicious food is worth Dexter supporting it immediately. We are vegetarians, but they had such a great array of food. We love to go to work out at the gym and go there afterwards it’s an incredibly delicious meal with soup and or an eggroll and fried or white rice with a very generous luncheon platter with leftovers for later for only $8.99. Dexter stand up and support a local business please.

My wife and I love asian food this place makes a hit. We are trying to Try most everything on the menue. So far quite good. Try the Food Zone same place but new owners.

I got the Almond Chicken.. I have never ordered Almond Chicken that has came like this. They gave me teriyaki sauce, and whole almonds. It was on a bed of random veggies, which is fine but not what usually comes with it. The fried rice was meh.. it had no flavor didn't seem fried at all. They only gave us two soy sauces for over 5 orders. Crab Rangoon was burnt and inside tasted off. I have an upset stomach now, I did not even eat half of my meal. I hate to leave negative reviews, but I should have listened to the others in the reviews! Overall not impressed and would not eat here again. Sorry!
