One I don’t understand why they put no sauce on their ribs and don’t even have an option online to even put sauce on the ribs and the ribs are so overcooked or whatever it’s like ripping apart a phonebook and half the meat is so hard so almost rubbery it makes you wonder people are nice atmosphere is nice but don’t order the ribs. It taste good but the meat is so hard that you gotta either rip it apart or use a knife to really saw it apart but every time I go in there, there’s barely anyone there so I don’t think people go there for the food even though they have a very wide selection of food and so the stuff is OK but the ordering online how you do it is very annoying and it just it’s not easy so yeah I won’t be coming back again. Sadly, I had high hopes.

Oak & Ash in Dowagiac deserves all the praise. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable, and the staff were genuinely kind and attentive. Wing Wednesdays are easily one of the best things happening in town—fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. The fried cauliflower was a standout too: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned so well that it honestly surprised me in the best way.
My overall experience was nothing but positive. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the vibe made it feel like a place you want to come back to. Oak & Ash has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite local restaurants. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best place for BBQ in SW Michigan! Service was great - appetizer was fantastic we ordered the burnt end loaded fries (hands down recommend) my husband and I ordered the meat board there was SO much meat we could have shared it! The flavor of the meat was bold but not overwhelming honestly perfect! Baked Beans were great (I strongly disagree with the other review left saying they taste like they were from a can) their corn bread was so good not dry at all.
The chef was rounding to each table asking how our meal was. He was very kind and was looking for feedback on our experience! Come to find out he was the owner Chef Andrew… very kind and respectful! He is locally rooted and that’s what small towns need in business owners! We will be back for sure!

Just had dinner and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious! The service was excellent. The ribs and rib tips were perfectly smoked, feel off the bone and melted in my mouth. I loved the Japanese and Carolina sauce. Oh and the pastrami/cabbage soup was yummy. What a twist on new flavors. We will definitely be back again and again. Kudos to the new owners!! Job well done!!

Absolute! Best barbecue place we have ever been to! The service was great. The environment atmosphere was wonderful and the food was out of this world! The rib tips fell off the bone. The turkey flavor was incredible and the overall taste was impeccable. We will definitely be visiting here again. Highly recommend and the pricing was fantastic for what you got!!
