Food was just ok. Quality and presentation definitely does not match the price point, that's the biggest dock. The Truffle mac with chicken was bland and meat dry. The French Coulette cut was cooked as requested, but served with bland potatoes and undercooked beans. I cant speak on their breakfast & lunch items, but recommend an anniversary dinner in EL elsewhere...

We headed to the Black Cat Bistro for something a little upscale to celebrate an anniversary. The food did not disappoint. I had the Pecan Crusted Tilapia, and others had the salmon and beef dishes, and all were very tasty! The waitress was very helpful and even made some blackberry lemonades for us - nothing like a custom lemonade! The kitchen didn't have some items, like curds for the poutine that we wanted to try, but the options we had were excellent. The area is really fun, too, with an adjoining pedestrian street with chalk drawings, areas to sit and chat, and an arcade. We loved this area of Lansing!

I've been here for dinner and the food was really good, which is why lunch was so disappointing. We were a party of 7 and our server didn't write anything down, so of course some of the orders were wrong. A lot of my fries were burnt on my plate. There was only our party and another group who had 2 active toddlers and yet it was thought to be a good idea to pin us all next to each whole the rest of the place remained empty. Very disappointing.

Me and my wife came here in the early afternoon. The service was good and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. The food left much to be desired. We got a chicken sandwich which my wife enjoyed, however, I ordered the 4 cheese Mac and cheese with steak which is a 28 dollar dish. The Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box and the steak didn’t even taste seasoned, as well as being chewy. Maybe it was a bad day for the cooks but I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody. You can get much better food for a much better price. Parking can also be a hassle.

First off the waitress didn't know what diet sugar was in her tight yoga pants.then once explained I received 1 Splenda. Tried ordering and just got a salad and she walked away not taking the rest of our order. Food was horrible we couldn't eat it we were sick to our stomach had food poison right away. She didn't even asked y we hardly ate any . We paid 8.00 for sprite and 8 00 for just iced tea. No manager around. The worst experience I've ever had.

Black Cat Bistro was wonderful! Everyone at my table LOVED their food. The food arrived fast and our waitress was fantastic. We sat outside on the patio and it was perfect! The location was great. Sitting outside was relaxing. We were not annoyed with a lot of noise and traffic. I highly recommend it.

Sunday brunch. Not a lot of options but good choices. I got the breakfast burrito. I would have liked salsa with this. Not an option. Had a good flavor. I wanted it a little spicier.Omelettes were huge. No toast. Guess people don't need/want toast. French toast had a great flavor. Chocolate pancake was huge!Walking into the restaurant, there were smells that were not creating a positive experience. We would come back.

The Black Cat has a Bistro/Tavern type atmosphere. Available seating is inside or outside weather permitting. The food is excellent. Our waitress was exceptional and the experience was fun and relaxing.

No sandwiches after 4pm, dinner after 4p only and it's expensive for the quality. Food was cold. Steak was over cooked and dry. Presentation not appealing. Not a fan of garlic and I believe all the hot veggie sides had minced garlic. Wouldn't visit again given the $20+ entrees and quality. Interior of restaurant very cheaply done. Could use a coat of paint! Service was good. Attentive waiter. No way to individualize the check so one person had to pay the entire $300+ check and then receive venmo from the others.Parking: Parking ramp directly across the street.

Very disappointed overall. It was a Sunday afternoon and we had tickets to a musical. Very glad we gave ourselves extra time. It took forever. Drinks and apps were good but service fell off and our meals were terrible. The sirloin was cold in the middle and the truffle Mac and Cheese was basically noodles with some chicken. I think our meals sat under a heat lamp for some time. They only came out when I asked. The restaurant was not crowded either so I have no idea what happened. They do have great drinks and apps so if that’s what you’re looking for and you have some time, have at it. So disappointed because we have a graduation coming up and I was hoping to go. We will have to find another establishment.

Went for my son's bday. Let's just say I recommend you avoid this place. Took forever to get the food and then when it did arrive it was tasteless, spaghetti was over-cooked, vegetables were cool, chicken was pink (returned it and they discounted it 50% since my guest hesitantly ate around the chicken, what?), and salmon was just in the edge of being done. The place wasn't even busy as we were there during spring break. I liked that our waitress was doing shots behind the bar. I'm pretty sure the chef/cook was too. And then the 3 front house staff (2 wait staff and manager) went over near the front door where the customers couldn't see them, were there a few minutes, and then all popped out at the same time-- what was that?? Buyer beware. I'm pretty sure there's many better options in EL.

We have been going to Black Cat Bistro for years, but after our last experience, we will not be going back. First, we had a reservation for 8 pm. However, the host informed us that our table was given to a group who walked in at 6:30 pm. Our group was seated at the bar for almost an hour before we were sat. Following this, we were informed we had to order right away because the kitchen was closing. So our group attempted to order but half the food was “out” but we obliged. After this, one of our group members tried to order pretzel bites and cheese but was told the kitchen would not make this because they were “out” of cheese. Once our food came out, we realized the level of care our table got. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it was served with spaghetti noodles. Another group member ordered tilapia and he couldn’t eat it because it was so tough. Three of the group members ordered the petite steak and the steaks were either over or undercooked. All in all, the food and service was horrible and we won’t be back.

Was super excited to try this place out, as a client highly recommended it. They were out of a lot of items, including rice which I thought was notably weird. We ordered the mushroom bruschetta as I love mushrooms! It was not good at all, I didn’t want to swallow the first bite. Whatever they put on the top tasted like it was fresh out of a can. My husband ate it because he was starving. I got the spinach salad and added chicken. The chicken tasted rubbery like they heated it in a microwave from something pre made. I ended up replacing it with steak and the salad was decent. Husband got the steak with mashed potatoes. He’s a picky steak eater, gave it a 4/10.Didn’t have any cocktails, maybe that saves this place. I wouldn’t come here for dinner again unfortunately.

Fantastic, hard working, friendly staff. Good martinis. Mediocre food. Fish tacos were ok, more like fish sticks.

Apps were pretty good. Drinks not bad either . I ordered the j*** chicken, almost uneatable. So dry it hurt to even swallow it. The other entrées were above average but not great.
