Excellent place for family gatherings. Authentic Japanese cuisine and atmosphere. I was delighted to celebrate my son’s graduation there. (Bento box combos are bigger than any other sushi restaurant I have been. Great service too.

The traditional seating was very enjoyable, sushi was great. The red bean ice cream is also very good.

First time back in 2 years and it has gone really downhill. Prices have gone way up and the sushi was the worst I've ever had. Lobster roll tasted awful and had hardly any lobster...for $25, that's completely unacceptable.

Today I had a very unpleasant experience with the manager of Sansu. I was looking for a sushi catering service to celebrate with my son this Saturday, as he is graduating from college. Since sushi is his favorite food—and because the place had been recommended to me—I checked online. The website stated that for catering inquiries, you needed to call.
I called, and the person who answered told me I needed to speak with the manager regarding catering. They took my phone number, and much later I noticed I had a missed call. I returned the call—this time to a different number than the one I had originally dialed—and the person who answered immediately asked, “Are you calling from out of state?” (My phone number has an Indiana area code.)
He claimed he had been receiving “fraudulent calls” from my number, even though I had only called the restaurant once. I explained that I was calling to arrange catering, but the manager—quite rudely—told me I needed to come in person. I said I first wanted to know the prices; he told me they were posted online, but I pointed out that the catering prices were not listed on the website.
He then replied, “In any case, we can’t accept orders for this weekend because it’s MSU graduation.”
In short, this person first accused me of making fraudulent calls from my number, despite the fact that I had only contacted the restaurant once. My number has an Indiana area code simply because people in this area often live in different states and choose not to change their phone numbers. He then tried to make me come in person just to get pricing—or perhaps to verify that I wasn’t a scammer.
They really need to review their customer service and learn how to treat customers properly. I never got to try their sushi, and I never will. That person has no business holding a manager position there
Seriously the best Sushi in the Lansing area

Sansu Sushi and Cocktails is one of my go-to spots in East Lansing! They have such a great variety of sushi, and everything is always fresh and delicious.
Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, the experience is always wonderful. The atmosphere is great, the service is solid, and the quality is consistently top-notch.
Highly recommend if you’re craving sushi! 🍣

My fiance Megan and I come to Sansu regularly in Lansing, but Sunday was so exceptional I felt compelled to write a review. We were celebrating our recent engagement and told our server Emma about it, and she was incredibly kind and enthusiastic, going above and beyond all evening with her service. She offered us free ice cream, which was a very sweet gesture, and we really appreciated her warmth. Thank you Emma, and we'll be going to Sansu regularly for the rest of our lives! <3

Sansu has been a staple for me since attending Michigan State. We went last night for my birthday and had a server named Gabe. Truly the best service I’ve ever had in my life! The food was incredible as always but Gabe really knocked it out of the park. The kid deserves a major raise!

They have very good sushi, but we can no longer justify the price, and you shouldn’t either. This used to be a place we frequented. Two basic rolls and it cost almost 30 dollars (California and a special California) , which is absurd .
