We stopped at friendly joes with too high expectations with it having relatively good reviews and what seemed to be plenty of food variety options with having our kids with us. But sadly we left very disappointed. The staff and environment were great. the food was that comparable to cafeteria food, yet the prices reflected that of a much better quality meal. Stopped in for dinner. Menu prices are very high. $15.50 for a 1/3 pound cheeseburger only. No chips no fries ($6.00) additional. The cheeseburger was terrible. Tasteless and very greasy. My wife’s burger was partially burnt. When she told the server the response was “sorry about that”. We will never darken the doors of Joe’s Friendly Tavern again.
Went there for smelt, they were out, I understand that smelt is hard to come by, understandable. My mother-in-law wanted a Maurice salad, waitress stated we don’t have that. Their menu stated everyday we have fresh homemade soup, ask your waitress for the daily selection, waitress stated we don’t have soup, only chili. The cherry hot sauce on chicken was amazing.
