Love The Oakland - just a great, dark cozy cocktail lounge with good music. I had the Green Badu this time, and it was just perfect. They also have a nice list of n/a drinks - the B Nektar SOber cider was so delicious and sugar free! Rare in a mocktail. Service is excellent, and it's a great stop before or after dinner, or as a break while holiday shopping.
Love this place but had to turn around because I waited 30 minutes for the train to pass but it never did so I had to go elsewhere. It blows my mind that the city of Ferndale is so concerned with putting in bike lanes, but does absolutely nothing about this train situation.
Skye, my bartender, was knowledgeable & attentive. I appreciated her offering me water before I even needed to ask. Loved her recommendation on trying Safeword. It was a delightful choice. Looking forward to my return. The open front that outlooks the sidewalk makes The Oakland the fabulous choice that it is. & the dark Marie antoniette vibe adds to its character
