Located inside the Flint Farmers Market, Beirut Restaurant and Grocery | Lebanese offers great food and great people. The food is good, with the BEST beef shawarma ever, better than the chicken shawarma, which is surprising for middle eastern cuisine. The chicken shawarma is very, very good too. Everything was fresh and delicious, including Enaya's Sandwich, Gyro, chicken and hummus, lamb and hummus, garlic sauce, cheese pita bread, and white garlic pita chips. The fresh pita bread and chips made everyday in the hummus is delicious. The small grocery offerings, namely the thyme seasoned & garlic seasoned pita chips and garlic toum sauce, are soooo good. The services are always good and quick and friendly. The owner works hard and is friendly to talk to, straight from Lebanon. This is the real deal, not an Americanized version. However, they can get very busy at times, so be aware and prepared. Some visits may have issues, like waiting 30 minutes for sandwiches or a disappointing lentil soup that was smooth like baby food, and a lamb and beef gyro with too much tzatziki and cold meat. Generally, it is a good place to eat with lots of seating and parking.
