I have been eating here since it opened in the 1978ish and today may be the last time I will ever order from the restaurant again. I tried to tell the woman on the phone I had a huge problem with the egg rolls that came in our lunch specials. She focused on they come free with the meal. The egg rolls were raw inside! All dough with not even a tablespoon, maybe a teaspoon, of filling in it. Making the lunch special egg rolls smaller than the regular is a cheap move they should be embarrassed about but putting just a smear of filling into them and serving me raw dough is a health concern and the women did not even see the problem with raw dough… it is free! None of the food was even similar to what I have ordered consistently for the last 30 years let alone almost 50. No flavor and watery when just a couple of years ago they were still thickening and seasoning it properly… oh the fried rice should not be called fried rice anymore, it was plain and blah, not fried! You might as well go to one of the buffets in Lansing…at least their food is fresh and has flavor and I never had a raw egg rolls when I ate there. It was so disappointing at the House of Hsu that it was absolutely sickening. Whoever owns this restaurant now needs to wake up. Not good anymore. You have ruined a great thing that once was. Just heartbroken.

Garlic chicken was delicious 😋
and the egg rolls are the best! 👌
This place has gone downhill. The egg rolls taste frozen not housemade. The general sol chicken tastes different and the meat and sauce is not as good. The garlic chicken was not very flavorful. I expected more of a garlic taste. I've been coming here for years and I honestly doubt I will be back. Even the coconut crab rangoons are not very stuffed.
I really didn't even want to give them a one star for their service or their atmosphere. But that's the lowest I could put on there. Don't get me wrong. Their food was great. But they are rude. The service sucked, they only came to us to take our order. And give us the check and on the check. They charged us $6.50 for a tip. And we already put a tip on the table. They said it was mandatory on Sundays. Now this is like you, they are not allowed to charge you. This, but my mom did not want me to argue with them. They told my mom she was always doing this all the time and my mom and I hardly ever go in there. Once in a Blue Moon. There was no posting on that. They would charge an extra tip on Sunday because they know it's illegal. So watch your receipts, watch your what you paying to this place. If you go in there

Food is terrible, high prices and rude manager. AVOID THIS PLACE at all costs. The food looks like it came out of a can, almost inedible. Worst 50 dollars I ever spent.

If I could leave no stars I would.
The women at check out was very rude.
My friend got her food first. My food came out 10 minutes later. The meal I chose has always come with pineapple. I asked for extra pineapple and was told it would be $4.00 extra, skip that. When my food came out without pineapple I asked the waiter. He replied my meal doesn't come with pineapple.
There were 3 tiny pieces of broccoli.
Our food was bland.
The dinner prices ate outrageous. The are raising their lunch prices.
I had been going to this restaurant for over 25 years. Today was the last time.
They are pricing themselves out of business.

Great take out, wonderful dine in. This is the most authentic cuisine. Whole food, seasoned great, vegetables are cooked to perfection. The portions are just right and leaves you more to enjoy at home.
Never have I been disappointed with their menu of service. If your looking for less americanized chinese cuisine, sit down and enjoy one of the local spots worth the visit.

We often come to the restaurant, however I got to tell you folks about what’s going on. So we ordered an appetizer: fried wontons, and they hardly had any meat filling at all and we told the waiter and the manager and they played it off. They barely give you any rice with the serving, which is Not lije before at all. And then they got this ridiculous 10% service fee on Saturdays and Sundays, which they’re not even letting their customers know about. So if you bring your family, you’re gonna have to pay a 10% service fee for the final Bill. The manager seams not friendly at all for the two or three visits. We’re not gonna come back to this place again. New Chinese/Thai place in Lansing is our next visit.
