I was hired as an entertainer for an event taking place at this event. During load in, we stored all of our stuff in the back against the sides of the storage room, out of the way, so that we would not interfere with any of the staff's walk through path. As I was finishing load in, one of the cooks deliberately shut the loading door on us, then picked up one of my prop carriers and threw it across the room. I had no interaction with this person up until that point. When I confronted him, he just stomped off into the kitchen in a huff, then later he came out and demanded I move my stuff to the other side of the room, which I did without issue. I even helped him move some of the venue's furniture that he claimed was also in his way. After the event, the cook choose to lie about the incident, claiming that I deliberately loaded in to obstruct his walkway and refused to move my props after he asked me to repeatedly until he was left with no choice but to physically throw my property out of the way. Again, this is false. My introduction to this individual was seeing him pick up my property and throwing it as I was finishing my load in. It's a shame, as this is a nice little venue with an intimate performing area up front that is great for open mic events and variety entertainment shows. But given how rude the staff is coupled with the fact that if you are an entertainer, they may well destroy your belongings via angrily throwing them, I would avoid this place.
This is the best mead Ive had in MI. Come get the Queens Bee. With they were at the MI Renaissance Festival or that i could get this in metro Detroit. But definitely worth the visit if you are in G Rapids
Great mead! Highly recommend
Have come here many times, always nice and great drinks!
Loved the mead. Tried everything and took some huckleberry home! Lovely place that feels like you walked into a DND adventure
Cute little spot! The decor is very old school - think '500 years ago' old school. The server was very nice and helpful. I had a flight and tried 3 meads. They were all delicious, but the classic mead was a bit too sweet for my personal taste. Still delicious though.
We had such a wonderful time visiting the meadery! The atmosphere, music, and of course the mead were all a great experience. We particularly loved the strawberry mead and the Ursa Major! Daniela was fantastic and took great care of us- she was very knowledgeable and friendly!
Arktos is a wonderful place for someone with gluten restrictions to go enjoy a drink, and they have a large variety so everyone can find something they like. Mead has become my favorite alcoholic beverage because it is so wonderfully made here. The atmosphere is a relaxed, viking mead hall, where playing board games is welcomed and enjoyable. My favorite meads in the last two years have been the Red Fox, and the Goddess of Spite. If you like sour, give the Goddess of Spite a try!
Dietary restrictions: Mead is made by fermenting honey and is naturally gluten free.

I have never been to a Meadery before..
I have never had mead before...
Last night, I did both at the Arktos Meadery. I enjoyed the evening. There is nothing too special on the menu, but what they do have was tasty. The mead was not at all what I expected. The Captain's Groog was excellent, as well as the Doc Holiday.
Go and expand your pallet. If you must have a beer, they have some good ones too.
Booze folks (like myself), you are SOL.

Cool place. Tried a flight of all six varieties of mead, and they were great. Enjoyed a grilled cheese sandwich and had a wonderful conversation with super-friendly staff. Really enjoyed the vibe. 10/10 would gladly visit again.

The greatest atmosphere of all time. I met THE bartender of the century John. I was acting silly and asked him to order me mead that Gandolf the Gray would order. John allowed me to use his custom mug and made me a one of a kind drink. From there he talked in length about the history of the establishment. The staff treats you like family. The best service, the best people, and the best St. Patty’s Day of my life.

As a nomad, I travel all over the country on foot, and I rarely run across restaurants such as this. The cook Surge is one of the nicest men you could ever meet, and the food there is excellent. I would personally recommend the lucky sandwich. The food is all handmade and tastes absolutely delicious, as care is actually taken in it's preparation. Unlike a lot of places, they make most of their dishes from scratch, not ordering from GFS and reheating meals to pass off as genuinely handmade. The atmosphere here is laid back and chill, the people here are interesting and some of the nicest folk you'll run across, and the food is amazing. I don't consume alcohol, but everyone I have heart speak of the mead and drinks during my visits have enjoyed the alcohol at this establishment. If you're looking for a chill place to relax, buy a drink or get a meal Arktos Meadery is definitely a place you should check out.
