Our main complaint is that no one seemed happy to serve us. We did not feel welcome. The walleye was average. The lemon sauce on the two chicken thighs was absolutely delicious though. The prices were higher than we expected. Very clean place!

Delicious locally sourced food. Limited, ever changing menu. Small venue but takes reservations.

My wife and I were looking for something a little different as we drove down Plainfield. We always like to go to small mom and pop's and Cafe Mamo hit the spot. The exterior is misleading, looking small, but the inside although not big, did seem roomy with many tables. We shared the pasta dish, it was simple but full of flavor. The rolls were soft and delicious with creamy butter. For dessert we enjoyed the cake and wow, it was a surprise with all it's wonderful tastes. Our service was warm and greeting. We enjoyed our entire experince.

I was considering dining here with my husband. After reading the nasty response (from the owner) to a negative review from a customer, we won't be.I didn't see any replies to the good reviews either.Sounded like the owner just wanted to be "right" not make things right with the dissatisfied customer.I'll go somewhere that appreciates constructive critism. So what if the server/hostess was a co-owner and built the dining table. Maybe service isn't her forte and she should build furniture instead.

My wife and I had a ‘parents night out’ and we took full advantage by trying this place out and were blown away. Everything was perfect. Can’t wait to come back!

I original put a different not being rude or anything just presenting my point. This is what the owner had responded withAs a business that has been repeatedly vandalized by teenage boys, I apologize for my concern of having a rude group of young boys walk into my business.Though you may be the richest young man in the world, you are niave to the layers of work that go into hospitality. However, if you are willing to drag us online because your homemade rolls prepared with local wheat (see that's us supporting the community) we're not to your liking, that says more about you than us.Money won't buy you manners.Me nor my acquaintance’s had been rude at least not them. I had raised my voice and my temper when I had figured out what this pyramid scheme of a restaurant had done. I am very mature and do not get angry until I feel there is a need. If you want to be upfront rather than lie about the situation contact my email. Alas I wouldn’t like to hear any frivolous slander about our attitude. Te deseo una vida de verdad en lugar de lo que agregas a la mente de las personas, porque eres un mentiroso.

A delightful, small restaurant with a lively, yet intimate atmosphere. The service was prompt and friendly. The menu was short, simple and creative. The food was delicious. The wine menu was full of choices, enough to satisfy any taste. We started with a delicious garden salad, country ham and freshly made dinner rolls. I had the homemade Spaghetti chitarra (pressed through wire giving it squared edges) with olives and olive oil. The walleye and coq au vin both looked perfect, and was told they tasted great. I hear the menu changes often, so I look forward to returning. Hats off to the owner and chef for keeping it all simple and delicious. Well done!

Definitely a hidden gem!! I very much enjoyed both the Mamo dirty martini and crispy sockeye. Highly recommend and looking forward to visit again!

This place hits all buttons, levers and switches that make you feel fabulous. They cause you to think when you’re leaving the restaurant feeling so satisfied, “When the hell am I coming back. Maybe tomorrow.” That’s how good!

Mezcal cocktail is deliciously smokey. Walleye and chicken were absolutely phenomenal. I never knew grape ice cream existed. It is exquisite. Atmosphere is quaint and inviting. Tasteful choice in music. Will return for more.

This restaurant is truly the whole package - a thoughtful curated wine selection, a limited, rotating and perfectly executed menu, and a pared down intimate atmosphere. Hands down the best restaurant in West Michigan.

Delicious food and top notch service. My glass was never empty. The chicken I ordered was possibly the best chicken I’ve ever eaten!
