For the price I paid here I could have been flown to Switzerland, rented a chalet and had a private chef for a week. But no, instead my recently divorced friends decided to go to this restaurant. Why would I want to eat editable Styrofoam? What a waste.

GP Sports has been on my radar for years as it's one of the few sports bars downtown that takes reservations. I chose it for my boyfriend's birthday get together for a group of 10 people for dinner before a Griffins game on a Saturday this winter, pre-COVID times. We ended up arriving about 10 minutes after our reservation time but they were accommodating and friendly even though the place was pretty busy. The restaurant is much larger inside than I had anticipated, making it a good place for groups. We got a nice long table away from other groups in a back corner. Our server handled our large group with ease and everything worked out timewise for us to make it to Van Andel for the game at 7. Our dinner took 2 hours which is about what I was expecting. The menu is pretty standard sports bar fare, with burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, flatbreads, and some entrees. I ordered the black and blue mushroom burger with two patties and upgraded to fries from chips. They also had the Impossible burger which is a nice option. Our food all came out at the same time and was hot! The fries were my favorite; nicely salted and thin (pretty close to McDonald's fries). The burger was very delicious and packed with flavor. I was very impressed as I was thinking it might be dry. The patties were juicy, seasoned well, and the bun held up to the patties and all the toppings. I wouldn't hesitate to order this burger again.Portions were large (our friends split a Cobb salad and it was huge) and prices were decent especially for downtown. I will definitely keep GP Sports in mind for future events with large parties or if I want a place to watch a game with friends. They validate valet parking at the Amway. I really have no complaints from my visit!

Hidden gem of a sports bar in Grand Rapids. There are not many good places to watch the game besides BW3 and Big E’s in GR but this place is often forgot about. Very good beer prices even though it was in the Amway hotel.

I've been to this Place a few times in the past. The condensed menu quite a bit. It's worth coming here just to get the Buffalo chicken dip. The sub sandwich I got was decent and my wife's Burger was pretty good ..Lots of beer choices

The food was fabulous! We got the potato skin appetizer..I can't think of the exact name right now, I had the grilled chicken sandwich and my husband had the Dagwood. Then we got the peanut butter pie dessert to share that was out of this world! Will definitely go back!!

This is a typical sports bar other than the fact that it's located inside the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids. It was loud wit tv's located all around the room. The service was good- our waitress was Courtney. The menu seemed a little bit limited, but it had several of my favorite choices. I had the Chicken Fiesta Salad and it had delicious grilled and seasoned chicken, black beans, corn, tortilla strips, romaine lettuce, cheddar cheese and another mild cheese. The dressing is a cilantro lime and you have to request the dressing on the side. I'm glad I had it on the side because I didn't really care for the taste of it. My friend had the grilled cheese sandwich and it's made with three types of cheeses and comes with your choice of a cup of soup or chili. My friend got the chili and enjoyed both the sandwich and the chili. Since we were staying at the hotel, this was convenient and the prices were reasonable.

I love the food here especially the nachos there are perfect. Nice kids menu as well as for adults.

This issue we had was getting drinks. Some of our party never received the drinks they ordered. I would suggest that you have a temp bar setup for 2nd Saturday in December or dedicated bartenders for the upper floor this will allow for drinks orders to be met in a timely manner. You basically have to order several drinks at one time due to the response of the waiter coming back to your table and getting the ordered drinks.
