The portion sizes aren't filling at all, and the empanadas weren't evenly salted throughout. I am not a person who wants super sized meals, but I do expect to be full after two courses. I ended up going to another cheaper restaurant afterward to get a small snack to hold me over.

The place was located in a nice building. There were multiple wine flight options. Our server was attentive and checked on us the entire time.
Wheelchair accessibility: The location didn't have any stairs and seating options to fit a wheelchair.

Love love love Reserve!! Always the best atmosphere, food and drinks + service in town— and while it may be a wine bar, they take their cocktail making seriously and elevate any mixed drink you could ever order or try. Loved the Snowbird last night, celebrating another trip around the sun for a birthday celebration. Let’s talk about that seabream entree, though: WOW. I haven’t had a fish dish cooked like this, to perfection, since literally being in Crete (Greece) this past year. Absolutely stunning, including the presentation and cutting at our table. Thank you for a perfect dining experience, time and time again. Love you, Reserve!
Dietary restrictions: They worked with us on restricting butter and dairy, without missing any flavor. Simply delicious and very thoughtful!

Reserve is one of Grand Rapids’ special gems. It’s quite expensive, but worth the cost for the ocasional splurge. Their food menu is outstanding and any dish will leave you impressed. Don’t get too overwhelmed by the wine list, it’s shockingly extensive and in my personal opinion, a bit confusing to browse through. Their staff is incredibly knowledgeable with wines and is capable of recommending pairings or just what might be best based on your typical tastes. Bottles definitely have a bit of a markup, but as I said sometimes it is worth it for a nice meal with incredible service.

I haven’t been here in years. I was very excited for my visit. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. We ordered the roasted chicken and the seafood linguine. The potatoes served with the chicken were mostly raw and the seafood that came with the linguine were overcooked. I don’t typically leave reviews, but I was just so disappointed. I would definitely come back for charcuterie though. And the staff was pleasant.
Attended a work event which was held at the charming space upstairs and had a great experience. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the wine/drink selection was excellent. Reserve's charcuterie boards are legendary, but you should also try their other apps (like the sliders and the crudité. The chou à la crème for dessert was perfect.

They have the special event and private dining game DOWN. Hosted a post holiday party in the Champaign room with above and beyond service, tasty eats, in a beautiful space. Your glass never empties. It's spectacular. Thanks to Nic and Team for providing a great place to entertain and unwind.

This is the best food I have ever had hands down. Our waiter was incredible and the ambiance was fun. But the food: wow. My father and sister both had steak and they can’t stop talking about how it’s the best they’ve ever had. My mom and I shared a salad and the mushroom tagliatelle which was to die for. We all shared the carrot steak and a cheese board, which I can’t even begin to describe. Thank you to the staff and chef who made my mom’s birthday special and memorable!
Vegetarian options: The carrot steak, warm potato and quinoa salad, and mushroom tagliatelle was incredible.

Food is work of art. My hamachi Crudo was so beautiful. Always perfect service.
Our food was horrible the seafood pasta was bland, the salad was too salty and my daughter Caesar sold was way over dressed. Not worth a $300.00 bill. Never again.
We've been here several times over the years and just celebrated a birthday meal again today. The food, service, and wine was off the hook. Absolutely phenomenal. We can't wait to return.
Vegetarian options: The vegetable hash was phenomenal.

I came in after working late, just a few minutes before close for their (reverse) happy hour. I had one of the best burgers I have had in a long time anywhere, served with twice passed fries so good they would make a Belgian chef proud, and a great creative cocktail. Best of all, the service was excellent, despite my late arrival, and extremely accommodating. I'll be back with the crew for a proper full meal soon, and we are getting things started with that killer charcuterie board.

Many good things to say about Reserve! Our waiter was knowledgeable about the extensive selections of wine and champagne. We started our celebration with a rose champagne that was excellent. For dinner we drank a French Chablis which was served at cellar temperature, and it was one of the most delicious wines I have ever tasted. For dinner the four of us ordered to share “family style” at the table. If you come to Reserve for only one menu item, make it a charcuterie board. Choices of cheeses and meats are beautifully presented with pickles, onion, olives, almonds, candied pecans, baguette rounds and honey. (I stopped by the cheese/meat counter at the front door area to watch Jules preparing the boards, and she was an artist at work!) We tasted most all the veggie or pescatarian small plates and a few entrees. Small plates are the perfect size for splitting by 4, as it turns out, or perhaps the chef prepared them this way specifically for our table of 4? Certainly the pacing of the food arriving to our table (2 plates at a time for 6-10 separate “courses”) was perfectly timed for a long, relaxing meal and we appreciated that unrushed hospitality. Recommended food: The oysters, without a doubt. The blistered shishito peppers, also no doubt. Most restaurants overly char these peppers, but here just enough to retain the fresh, green, sweet flavor, and the chèvre sauce was a sublime dip. A big plate of these at $13, why are these diners complaining on this site about high prices? We also loved the Hamachi Crudo (sashimi) but would have appreciated being warned about the heat in the pepper included, which, for me, overwhelmed the rest of the ingredients. The mushroom wraps were absolutely wonderful, don’t miss those. The charred eggplant was the only small plate that disappointed. We also split, between the 4 of us, the agnolotti, the scallops and the veggie hash. The scallops were especially memorable. Desserts were unmemorable except for the sorbet, which made for a perfect ending. We will be returning to Reserve for both everyday dining and special celebrations. It’s relaxing to have a laid back dress code. We also appreciated the low volume of the background music which did not contribute to an uncomfortable noise level in the dining room. Would have appreciated if the table of 4 next to us would not have been set to accommodate 6, which crowded us. As a 50 year lifetime restaurant professional, I would be remiss to not mention that, overall, table service personnel could benefit from some enhanced training. Perhaps just a refocus on the basics? Certainly service is the most consistent complaint on this site for Reserve. There are, simply, proper techniques to present food at a restaurant of this caliber and price point. It adds to my enjoyment and my gratuity when service is professional and exemplary. Certainly our waiter was cheerful and knowledgeable, and we appreciated that. Thank you Chef Luke for your wonderful food and wine selections!
