Can be kind of cramped during lunch time but that's not the restaurants fault.

Ordered 'The Royal', very filling but deliciously prepared. Draft beer selection changes but had good picks. Drip coffee was very good. Visited several times now for quick lunch. Food is always at least 7 out of 10. Service always very good to excellent.
The only word of warning: On a show night in Downtown it can be difficult to get a table, let alone parking. Find out if there is a show the night you will be visiting and be prepared.

I love ROAM. I can’t believe it took me this long to write a review. This is such a unique place. If you like trying new things or new spins on classics, you’ll love ROAM. The drinks are always so good and service is even better. Last time I went I got the crab Rangoon dip and it was phenomenal and I’m not even a fan of goat cheese, but it just worked!

UPDATE on 12/3/26
Another year, another great experience! As tradition dictates, I came for lunch and dinner on both days of the Convention 😁.
The Singapore Curry, Spicy Pumpkin Soup, the Antichucho Skewers, Rangoon Dip, Kati Roll, and finally on the last visit, they had the Gumbo and the chef's delicious Eggnog Crepes.
I also really enjoyed the El Charro mezcal drink.
Can't wait for next year!
DIVINE! And yes, I meant to do that on all caps.
Do yourself a favor and stop in if you can.
I'm only in town once a year for a conference, but if they're open, I'll only eat here. It's the most delicious international street food outside the actual street where it comes from.
This review is very long overdue as I've been here for lunch and dinner probably a dozen times now, but I guess I can just combine all my experiences into one. This time, I had the poke bowl (salmon, tuna was 86) for lunch, and for dinner, the spicy Thai soup, kapusta burger, and elephant's ear for dessert. Their stout was also very good.
And for lunch today, I had my favorite - the (slightly) spicy chicken satay with thick noodles, and peanut sauce with peas/edamame and red onion.
The staff is always so attentive, and with the high ceilings and cozy decor, you always feel welcome and valued customer.
I'll be back next year! At least 4 times! 😁

Fantastic food menu & drinks. The concept is fresh - street food around the world. It rotates, so ask your server what's new / testing - there may be items not listed but available from the kitchen.
The jian bing was top notch (be sure to ask for extra crisp). Will be back to try more for this menu - very fun & tasty!

Alas, a complete service failure. We showed up and sat 15 minutes before our reservations- great! And then in we got our drinks 20 minutes later. Apps at 45 minutes. But the time our server -also the hardworking bartender-appeared a second time to take our order at 47 minutes since sitting, we would have had 20 minutes to eat and make it to our show as the kitchen was running st about 45 minutes.
The food we got was good, drinks were for but way behind.
I quotient recommend doing this prior to a show at DeVos unless you arrive at 5:30 or order right away.

Superb! Fantastic lunch at ROAM! Was our fav food spot during our week long visit in Grand Rapids! Selena, our server, was attentive and friendly and the best server we had all week. 👏 Food was delicious-tacos on paratha bread, ensalada de elote Rangoon dip and mango sticky rice all yum! Vibe and decor awesome!
Selena was very personable and helped us pick the perfect item. They have a VERY detailed chart regarding allergens in the items and how dishes can be modified. This is the most helpful restaurant for allergies. We had Jian Bing and it was FABULOUS! So flavorful, unique, and just the right amount of spice with the chili oil on the side.

This was JUST what we needed on a cold & rainy day - comforting gumbo, amazing kimchi, and the most delicious mango sticky rice with an autumnal kick. If you’re in town, you need to come here!

Been here a few times and always have a great experience. The food is cooked well with quality ingredients and good flavors, and they have some nice IPA options on the draft list! Atmosphere is great too.
