Salvatore’s made a great choice for dinner. It’s an old school Italian restaurant with a fairly no-frills interior but the food is the classic kind of red-sauce dishes that made the cuisine popular in the US. I got the sampler platter that came with cheese manicotti, cannelloni, and lasagna. It was delicious and very satisfying. They don’t skimp on the sauce or the cheese. The spinach and artichoke dip and bruschetta are great! I ordered the linguine carbonara, and our party agreed that it was one of the best dishes out of the ones we ordered. However, the other options were also good. Friendly staff! The patio seating is nice, and the indoor seating has a nice atmosphere. There is also bar seating. The parking lot is small, but there is overflow parking across the street from the Cherry health building.
Three strikes I'm out. I've tried this place three times for dinner, and have been unimpressed each time. Italian food is supposed to be flavorful, and their food definitely lacks flavor. The best part of any dinner that we have had was the Caesar salad and the Spumoni chocolate coated ice cream ball. It's really not worth going back for.
