What a little gem! We were looking for something not too heavy and a little bit off the beaten path, so to speak. Perfect! We both chose the curry chicken bowl for our first time and found it delicious! The curry wasn't overpowering, and just the right amount of brown rice. The fresh salad on top gave it a pleasant texture. Took a while to come out, but that's just the sign of careful preparation. I'd come back in a heartbeat the next time I'm in the area.

Parking: It's downtown. Parking can be tight on a weekend night.

Place was clean, the only person working was friendly, food had good flavor. I do agree with another review that seeing the microwave used constantly was a detractor. What I’m not good with is charging $4 for a “mango” drink that was just Sam’s Club or Costco-brand nectar (it was poured in front of me so it was obvious). I get trying to offer options but that felt cheap, considering how many local restaurants make their own beverages for the same price or cheaper. Also, even recognizing it was one person working, one bowl still took 30 mins in an empty restaurant. Room for improvement.

If you are looking for authentic Caribbean feel in the cold space of Grand Rapids, look no further. The authentic food, tropical atmosphere, and music will bring you to the warmth of the Caribbean coasts. The chef also does what he can to create authentic and healthy at the same time. You will not be disappointed.

I stop in here for a quick lunch and I was not disappointed! There was only one guy working, but he was doing a great job and friendly to everyone. I had a chicken bowl and it was amazing. Big portion size too! Will definitely be back.

They definitely need to get completely setup and organized from the kitchen to the food, trying something different I decided to come here, not only was my food not cooked but it was leftovers warmed up in the microwave, honestly I’m not going back here until I know for sure they are up to code, with serv food and safety certificates posted not saying that you will get sick but they not established, organized, or sanitary enough for me, but I do see good hopes for potential maybe after a few grand openings

Because the food is good and the service good as well, I have hopes for this eatery. It's new at this location and only has little details to improve the experience. Larger trash receptacle openings would go a long way.

We came here for dinner and enjoyed the food that we had. The space to dine inside is very limited with how small the space is, but it's bright and airy. The food took a while to come out but was a nice change of pace from the other menu offerings downtown.Biggest complaint would be the TV playing music videos was very loud and made conversation difficult in such a small space.

Their food is great! ? I had empanadas, a chicken sandwich, and had the opportunity to taste a banging new drink that will soon be on their menu! The customer service is also above and beyond.. I went to the Rivertown location with a friend and although it was closed, the owner was there taking care of some things and still took time to make us some food ?. If you want great dominican food this is definitely your go to place.

This place is amazing. The food is delicious and filling. If you haven't already you have to make a stop here for a meal. You will not regret it. And the prices are great. The owner Tony Banks is very passionate about his restaurant he personally came out and asked if the food tasted good. For the owner to come out to have a conversation with the customers is rare. Passionate a wonderful taste and staff is amazing hands down.

Healthy Eating And Delicious! I had the eggplant combo including yellow rice and salad. It is an inspiration that they offer healthy options! My friends had the oxtail combo and steak combo and expressed the same. The owner brought my lunch to my table and had the opportunity to talk with the chef and owner...very friendly and personable. The owner is also a DJ so we had background music. A great pairing atmosphere for a bite to eat after a movie, a date or business meeting.

Vegetarian options: Not very many restaurants offer hand made healthy choices.

Dietary restrictions: Low fat, low sodium, vegan, chicken

Food was outstanding. The service was good, but could be better with more staff. Was only one person at the front and the same cooking and serving the food. Another guys who seems to be a “manager” or owner in his computer was just there without helping her at all. When leaving we said “Thank you” but he didn’t answer. The poor service in some Latino places is the bad part.
