We sat at the drive through for 10 minutes waiting for someone to take our order no one came so we went to the window and they told us they were closed at 9:50. But on their website it says 10. We came with 20 minutes left of their opening. If you close at 9:40 put that on your website.

We were from out of town and wanted to get a quick burger. Upon arrival we were not greeted by humans, but the self ordering station. I guess it was fine because I felt like we could take time ordering. We ordered, but didn't realize we would self serve drinks and the machine didn't turn on until we scanned a slip. So we got that figured out. It's also worth mentioning we were the only customers in there at this time. A staff member was mopping and others were in the back. Staffed walked by us a few times and I half expected a greeting or a hello and we didn't get that. When our order was ready, a staff member came over the mic and announced food for us to come get it. It looked underwhelming. Next our shakes got ready 5 minutes later so we grabbed them and mine was pure liquid. I had to go to the counter and wait a long time for anyone to come out there to notice me. Finally a guy came out, made a few excuses as to why my shake was more liquid than water and then remade it, having me get back up and grab it again. It was better this time. The shakes were better than the food. The burger looked under cooked, there was no color to it at all almost as if it was white. Not appetizing at all. And again, no staff members in site to even tell this information to. So, I finished my fries and shake and left. They need some major training here. I'm not sure of steak n shake us suppose to be totally contactless with no customer service at all or what but it was very cold there!

The food was ok, but the order was not accurate: ordered a butter burger with no onions but it had both regular onions and grilled onions. Went to the counter to have it fixed with the receipt (mistakes happen) and they remade the burger fresh but with regular onions. I said again that there should be no onions at all. The worker said "You said just no grilled onions". I replied saying "No, I indicated that there should be no onions at all but we got the opposite, both regular and grilled onions. No, onions please". She took the burger back and just removed the onions and then slid it back on the counter to me while slamming my receipt down, which was now covered with grease and ketchup. All of this was right in front of who I assume is the manager (wearing a tie). I made sure to speak up by saying loudly "Thank you, I guess."

Probably because there was only one cook and an assistant.The bathroom had a foul smell due to it not being cleaned. I had a lot of gas in my stomach, which made it difficult for me to sleep. I will not be eating there again. ?

I was happy to find a Steak ‘n Shake location. I thought they were all closed. They’ve innovated to continue offering good food at a super affordable price. Now you order yourself and pick up the food. In summary, no more wait staff. I would’ve given the food 4 stars, but what I thought was mayo on my burger was unmelted butter stuck to the lettuce. I guess they didn’t cook it long enough on the bun. But it is a super affordable lunch, and coupled with the nostalgic feelings, I would definitely give this spot another try in the future!

The food was great, no exceptions to this. The service, well what can I say. In an atmosphere where no one wants to work, they are doing their absolute best and it worked. Unfortunately, you must order from a digital kiosk, with no human contact, and your order is called out at the counter. Not like it used to be, when they had plenty of counter help, waitresses and busboy's. But like I said I worked, and we got all over our food that we ordered and it was correct and hot. So no complaints. I will definitely be going back. And we went to the Steak 'n Shake on Kenowa in Grandville.
