Went to an event here - parking was challenging. Once the spaces are filled, there is no other place to park. Was quite underwhelmed by the food which was pricey. Banquet food was steam table overcooked mixed vegetables, dry chicken in an odd butternut squash sauce with raw pecans mixed in, some thin sliced beef that was too thin and stringy and whitefish that had a precarious number of bones rendering it dangerous and bland. The salad and the dressings for it were the only thing...
I've been here several times as a guest and always enjoyed it and loved all the tradition this organization has. Everyone is friendly and the entertainment is always top notch. I love the beautiful waterfront view here at the point where the Detroit River opens into Lake Erie. This club is connected to an island that is connected to an island that is connected to an island. Go figure!
We attended a wedding at Grosse Ile Yatch Club. The staff was great, very friendly and attentive, made sure the guests were taken care of. The dinner was buffet style, the food was good. The meal was mixed veg, roasted red skins, chicken marsala, and steak au poive. The venue is very cool, right on the Detroit River. Overall experience was really good. Definitely recommend this venue.
