I've been a few times and it's such a nice cozy space with the seating areas and bookshelves lining the walls. I noticed they had a patio area setup in the back too once the weather got nice. Recently, on 2 separate occasions, I tired their matcha mint lemonade, salted burnt honey latte, and I got a breakfast sandwich too. I really loved the lemonade and would get that again, but that latte I would drink every day if I could I was so sad when it was done lol.
My wife and I live in Seattle, but i was born a quarter mile away from Kitab in Hamtramck. Whenever we visit Detroit, we always stop in at the Polish Art store, but this time we wanted a coffee and little bite to eat before. Kitab was a wonderful find. Great coffee and my yummy breakfast sandwich was fuel for most of the day. And the smiling staff were all friendly and efficient. This will be a regular stop on future visits to Hamtramck - The Entire World in Two Square Miles!
Hands down, some of the best sandwiches in town. Every sandwich is made to perfection with great flavor and quality ingredients. The drinks are decent, but adding pastries to the menu would make the experience even better.
