I agree with all the positive comments regarding The Royal Tea Service; service was good, atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous and the food was a nice array of sandwiches and two small desserts with a lovely cup of tea. But I was shocked at the price when we received the bill. To register each guest gave $10 which was to be credited to our bill. This place is not messing around with anything. This is a top flight restaurant. It's a place for a special occasion. Take your own bottle of wine if you want as they only serve pop and coffee. The grounds are something to see, so plan on a half hour for that. While we ate peacocks roamed around outside the windows. It's truly a great experience and a gem of a place for Michigan. Go here and experience it. It's a somewhat hidden place in the city.
I am beyond delighted with the delicious and beautiful vegan food at a Christmas tea at Royal Eagle which is on the grounds of St. Sabbas Orthodox Monastary. The napkins, which I loved, were folded by the monks. There is a requirement for modest dress as it is a monastary.
