We were thrilled with everything we got on the menu except for the duck. Although the flavors were very good, my husband's duck was difficult to chew. The whitefish Thai chili was a delight, the cornbread was mouth watering and both desserts (s'mores and blueberry shortcake were delicious. The restaurant itself was beautiful and our server was excellent. We will definitely return!

Les Cheneaux is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. We visit the UP yearly and make a point to eat there as often as possible. The service is outstanding and the food is excellent. Everything is presented beautifully.

I was disappointed that the polenta was swapped out for barley in my dish. I realize it is your last weekend, but for a vegan dish the ratio of mushrooms to barley was off balance. Too much barley. However, we will be back next year!
This restaurant is a lovely gem in the UP. Gourmet food, impeccable service, and beautiful setting. We make it a point to dine here if we are anywhere in the vicinity; this time we traveled down from our vacation spot in Paradise, MI, well over an hour away.

So glad we had our Wedding catered by LCCS. The food was absolutely wonderful. It was fresh, tasty, set up was inviting, Staff was superb. They helped so much with more than just the buffet. They made our Wedding look and feel high class. We're still receiving compliments on the food. A+; highly recommend!

We had a wonderful dinner tonight. Our server was excellent and the food was delicious, creative, and beautifully presented. My husband had the steak and I had salmon prepared with Mediterranean spices. It was served on couscous with a delicious sauce. Our desserts were also very unique and extremely tasty! We felt that the prices were very fair for the quality of the food. The dining room has a beautiful water view. We will definitely plan to return next summer!

I love coming here! The food and service is fantastic. We started with the charcuterie board and it was amazing! Beautiful presentation and fantastic food items! Next was the salmon sashimi and the mixed green salad of which both were delicious! The entree of the night was the duck as it was beautifully presented and with the most flavor! I had the whitefish in curry sauce that was outstanding but had heat! Flavors were amazing! Salmon was delicious too! To top it all off was the blueberry shortcake - yum! Wine list was fabulous and the dining experience exceeded our expectations! Try the place and please leave a donation for the school as they definitely deserve it!❤️?

There are few dining options in Hessel, but this is one you don't want to miss. The food, service and experience was great. We had fun cocktails, enjoyed some small plates (appetizers) and also enjoyed our meals/desserts. The menu is small and seasonal, FYI. If you have any picky eaters in your group, you may want to call ahead and know what's on the menu. Food is a bit pricey but to be expected and it was very good! Also the atmosphere is cozy.

This dinner exceeded my expectations in every way. Innovative, delicious cocktails started our evening. Each dish was exquisitely presented and the food flavors/textures/combinations were creative and so professionally prepared. The service was A+. I am from a large city with an enviable food scene and never imagined I would have this type of dining experience in the Les Cheneaux area. Well done!!

It's always a pleasure to eat at the Culinary School. The view of the Marina adds to the calm vibe there. The service is great, too. But it's the amazing food that keep us coming back. The chefs are able to make the dishes with both eye appeal and elevated flavors, so the experience is different every time-and always delightful!

The creative combination of local “in-season” ingredients made the food absolutely delicious. The black mayo on the Bison burger was wonderful, as was the salmon sashimi. The house salad was fabulous with the blueberries, goat cheese and a rhubarb based dressing!

We had a small wedding celebration and chose the Les Cheneaux Culinary School for our dinner afterwards. The service staff was extremely accommodating and made our evening special. We enjoyed the steak, the duck and the hamburger that were served. We would recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious meal with a beautiful view of the water.
