I was in Germany for 2+ yrs and was introduced to Gyros. Kozaks and Hellas in Tarpin Springs are the only places in 35 yrs that I have found that's holds up to my expectations. I have tried different places and was very disappointed. This is what is left after was done with the peta. Lot of extra meat etc.
We love the food but in the years we have been going at least a half dozen times they have not been open when we got there during their normal business hours. They do not answer their phone so it is impossible to call ahead to verify that they are open. Very frustrating. Even if it shows online that they are open, this cannot be trusted, so you drive all the way there to find out that they are closed.
The Gyros are better than downtown Detroit Greektown restaurants, the Chili Cheese dog was also great!
They can use some help with the fry's but i can ignore that for the Gyro's and Dogs. I see some complaints about prices but i have no problem with the prices as the food is worth it.
