Excellent home comfort food. Pasties were the everyday sustanence meal for generations of miners, and they will fuel you for a days adventuring too. You can not visit Houghton without getting at least a couple of these. The traditiional with beef, onions rutabagas is stick to your ribs filling and delicious. We also got some frozen to take home. Fresh bakery items were also delish. Try one. Or a dozen.
I was here a year ago and it was better. Went back yesterday on jun 8th. The lady at the counter in pink was nice. But the one dressed in black with tattoos was very rude. The pasties were soggy and really doughy. Was actually disappointed. We also grabbed some very dry cake donuts that we tossed. Bars were good though!
