La Fonda Mexican Restaurant

I've ate here numerous times, service is great, food is great, will continue to return.

So update - 3 years after leaving the original, this place is still amazing!! Hands down best Mexican spot in Imlay City and i would legitimately cry if it closed. So you ask whats good, haven't had a bad meal yet. Chicken Fajitas are always a solid, then the Jalisco Platter with chicken. Then I always add on some american style carnitas soft tacos, can’t go wrong with those. We always add on the chips, dip, with the Queso Blanco with chorizo added in. What else to say...... everything ober a period of 5 years has been great. Keep it up La Fondas.

I'm still not used of Mexican music but I understand that's normal in any Mexican restaurant.

So much good flavor and I definitely found my new favorite Mexican restaurant and the waitress was so amazing she was so friendly and got everything super fast

I use to love going here but went to go order online and all the prices have been raised by so much! 1 Flauta use to be $3 now its $7?! What a disappointing surprise. Won't be eating here anymore.

Food was delivered to table less then 5 mins after ordering obviously it was microwaved greasy meat thecpugfy tacos are now half the size they used to be normal flavor to the meat the nachos had at least a half of head of shredded lettuce on it could of made a bowl of salad from what we removed off top. More what im assuming is refried beans that looked gross and cold along with like 2 tables spoons of cold hamburger unseasoned. The server was unfriendly and when i asked if they had just a burrito she said I'd have to order a meal and just not eat the beans and rice. Not wasting food or money.
If I wanted ti watch soap operas or football I'd of gone to B3 or stayed home the 3rd tv was a Screensaver playing on it. Not one tv faced the main living room except the ones behind bar mexican soap opera with no volume and a sex screen my grandchild got to see. Orcwasych the screen saver. Won't be back obviously.

The building looks like an old motel and was a little intimidating, especially since we were the only customers when we arrived. But the service was good, the staff was friendly, and the food was decent. If you can get past the first impression, it’s worth a visit.

The food was okay but it took a long time to get it even though they weren't busy. We ended up ordering dessert after and waited over 30 minutes for subpar deep fried ice cream and churros. The waitress came out after about 20 minutes to tell us it would be up soon. We got our bill and again waited a while, the waitress didn't come back until we got up to look for her.

It was a very excellent dining experience, Yesenia was great and gave us excellent service! The food was very on point and fresh. It was greatly appreciated.

Mexican want be

We didn't eat, just came for a drink. Large restaurant but they only use a small part of the space. Service was good, atmosphere I wasn't super impressed with just because it seems like they are closed.
It does look like they have an outside space but I don't think they have the staff or need to use it.
