Honestly the best Mexican food in the area. Very similar to Mexican food in Detroit. Great food, great prices, & good service. Every time I visit I have a good experience. Definitely one of my favorite local places to eat!
As a Tejano, I’m always on the lookout for good Mexican and Tex-Mex food wherever I travel in the U.S., so when I spotted Mimi’s Taqueria in Interlochen, I had to give it a try. I ordered my usual test meal for a new Mexican spot: three carne asada tacos with rice and refried beans, all as carryout. The cashier was incredibly friendly, the food came out quickly, and I really appreciated that she offered salsas and asked if I needed plasticware before I left.

I tried Mimi’s Taqueria for the first time yesterday and I loved it! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the prices are great. It’s such a fun little local spot with a really laid-back vibe. Definitely one of those places I’ll be coming back to when I’m craving good tacos without spending a ton. 🌮
