Mat does a great job cooking up tasty barbecue and innovative side dishes. The brisket is flavorful and tender, as is the pulled pork. His specialty baked potato are worth a try. Mat's is the place if you want a great sandwich, salad or bake potatoes. The Texas potato with BarBque Beef is great. Service is fast and very friendly. A great place to go for lunch. Mat's Café has excellent food, and the menu is very creative! You get huge portions as well. Great BBQ joint!

Saw a post for a family meal deal on FB and trying to support small businesses through this pandemic, I thought let's give this place a try. I ordered the BBQ Deal, which included 2 different pulled pork options, ribs, chicken wings, beans, Mac n cheese, coleslaw and some jalapeño corn bread muffins. Plenty of food to go around for us. Everything was really good. The coleslaw lacked some flavor by itself, but adding it with the pulled pork saved it. It would have been a great option for a pulled pork sandwich. It was also super easy to order, you could call or text your order! I would Highly recommend this place.

Great food but call before you go. Spotty as to when they are open or not. I see people trying to go in ALL the time and they are closed.
The food was decent as usual, but they don’t even seem to be trying anymore. The place was very cold like maybe 50 degrees. The staff were wearing hoodies in the kitchen and kitchens are usually hot. The special wasn’t even written on the board and you only get plastic silverware.

I consider myself a bit of a pulled pork connoisseur and Mat's is truly at the top of my list of best BBQ. When I see pulled pork BBQ offered at an eatablishment, I order it to see how good, or bad, it is. I do this even when traveling out of state. Mat's is hands-down some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten - even compared to BBQ from down south. Also, I greatly enjoy the atmosphere at the cafe. Very relaxing for a nice lunch. The sides served are great, too. So good!!

The Cuban sandwich was amazing. The mix pulled pork and ham along with their seasonings and pickles were perfect. Definitely coming back again!

Of course there are healthier options too. His salads are huge, green, and topped with dried cherries, blue cheese, and your choice of dressing.Hands down so good! Ordered turkey, bbq pulled pork, beans and Au gratin potatoes. Turkey was nice and moist. I don't eat pork but the guest loved the Pulled pork and said it was flavorful. The beans were gone in an hour.

Consistently good lunch! They are fast, inexpensive and large portions. A convenient lunch in downtown Jackson, their special usually includes a large chicken BBQ sandwich with one side- slaw, sweet potato fries, etc, and a drink- all for about $9. Bam.Hands down so good! Ordered turkey, bbq pulled pork, beans and Au gratin potatoes
