As soon as we walked into Toba Sushi and Grill, our experience was ruined by our waiter, Ryan Johnson. Before we even had a chance to sit down, he immediately started harassing us about tipping, which felt extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable.

The food was mid at best. If in Kalamazoo I almost always go to Toba however, not the Drake location. It just happened to be closer last night, but it was so bad last night. I threw an entire roll away because it was cut so badly and the tuna left a meaty paste smeared across each cut from the roll. 0/10 appetizing to look at and did not taste good. This was the tuna, shrimp tempura and avocado roll.

This place was perfect, absolutely loved the food. Just the flavor in the basic rolls is amazing; the karanagi burrito was packed with flavor and paired with the spicy mayo was such a great combo. Aidan was a great, informative, and friendly waiter. I am 100% going again.
