5 Stars I recently visited Grand Rapids, MI, while getting Cybertruck service done at the Tesla Service Center and found myself craving Filipino food. A quick Google search led me to Adobo Boy - Filipino Dining Experience, just minutes away. I couldn’t believe my luck! Having spent 17 days in the Philippines only two months prior, I’d been craving authentic Filipino cuisine every day since returning to the States. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the sight of the Philippine flags flapping in the window and was greeted by the incredibly friendly staff. Ace explained that their menu changes weekly, giving customers a chance to try a variety of Filipino dishes. With help from one of my colleagues in the Philippines (via a video call), I settled on Lumpia ni Kuya Francis, Paksiw na Pata, Manga Limonada, and Turon Saging Langka. The moment I tasted the Chicken & Ginger Soup, followed by the rest of my order, I felt transported right back to the Philippines. Every bite was bursting with authentic flavor! Jackie and Ace went above and beyond to make me feel at home—sharing stories about their homeland and listening to mine as well. Their warmth and hospitality truly made my visit unforgettable. Whether you’re new to Filipino cuisine or a long-time fan, don’t hesitate to stop by this family-owned gem. They’re serving up fantastic dishes and living the American dream, one plate at a time!

I am only in Grand Rapids for a week and a friend of mine recommended Adobo Boy. It is the highlight of my trip here, amazing food, and wonderful owners/staff. Ace and Jackie came around and talked with everyone there. They were both so kind and personable and it made the whole experience one I will never forget. If you are in the area you need to try Adobo Boy and if you aren't in the area I promise it's worth the trip!

Oh wow! Such a fun place for these food adventurous divas. It is family owned and operated, and the owners & chef/server welcomed us and were BEYOND kind!! They gave us wonderful insight and stories, and great reccomendations. The food was impressive and delicious. We tried the kwek kwek (fried quail eggs), the chicken adobo and pandit bam-i espesyal. We recommend it all! And we got a taste of the purple yam icecream (ube).

I went in for authentic Asian food from Amazing Myanmar Asian Cuisine, but they’re closed! Instead, the Adobo Boy is leasing. Great service, interesting menu. Especially worth dining in with great atmosphere and service.

Was so thrilled to find a Filipino restaurant in the area, and it did not disappoint! My husband and I visited with friends, and everyone loved it. I had the tofu sisig and calamansi lemonade while my husband had the pork adobo, and we shared lumpia with the table. So delicious!

Ace served us with such kindness and was very friendly.

We will be back!

Adobo Boy has become my go-to spot for Filipino food here in Michigan, and I’m so grateful for it! Having lived here for the past two years, I was constantly searching for a place that reminded me of my parents’ cooking back in Chicago. For the longest time, the closest options were in Detroit, which made it difficult to satisfy those cravings for the food I grew up with. But once I discovered Adobo Boy at Noodle Fest and through GRAPF, I knew I had finally found "the" spot.

Jackie and Ace, who own and run Adobo Boy, are not only fantastic hosts but also friends of mine. Jackie’s cooking is beyond incredible, and every dish feels like a warm, comforting taste of home and very authentic. They’re always so welcoming, and I know I’m in for a great meal whenever I visit.

Some of my personal favorites are the Kare Kare, Tilapia, Halo Halo, and, of course, their signature Redd's Pork Adobo. Each dish is a celebration of Filipino flavors, and the care that Jackie puts into her food really shines through.

If you’re looking for a unique experience, they also offer a Kamayan Tasting Experience, which I had the pleasure of enjoying with my family and friends. It’s a feast that’s not to be missed, especially if you’ve never tried Kamayan-style dining before!

Adobo Boy is doing something special by bringing Filipino food to the mainstream, and if you’re in West Michigan or Michigan in General, this is a must-visit spot. Whether you’re craving a taste of home or looking to explore Filipino cuisine, Jackie and Ace have created something truly special here. As their slogan holds true, "It's more fun at Adobo boy!"
