Friendly, knowledgeable staff and some great white wines!
We stopped by for a tasting and everything we tried was very nice. Mary served us and she was very kind and knowledgeable about the wines.
Delicious wine in a great outdoor setting.
It's one of my favorite wineries up in the Leelanau Pennsiula. It has been around a very long time and is well established. Seating is outside since their building is quite small. They bring your wine out to you one at a time and explain it to you. The pace is a bit slower, but I like that. This is a small winery and the selection is a bit small but all the wines are really good.
We had Harvest Days tickets and got there at 4:46pm. They close at 5pm, but refused to serve us because "it takes 30 minutes to do a tasting". We didn't want the tasting, just a glass of wine, but only thing she'd do is sell us a bottle. If you close at 4:45, say so. We won't go out of our way for you.
So first I have to say, I don't usually like Chardonnay, but theirs is good! Second, THE DIP, oh my goodness, sooooo gooood!! Also a beautiful property, great customer service, and good wine!
So I love almost all the LP wineries but the tasting experience here is the best I've seen. If you can get Shannon to take care of you I'll promise you you'll come away very impressed.
We've been here once or twice a year for about 10 years. And until this visit it was always one of our favorites. It's NOT just the money (it was always a free tasting and now it's $2 a shot) it was the "experience" that was missing. Everyone had to be outside, the bathroom is now a porta-poddy, there were no family stories about the wine, no laughs and banter while being led through the menu, and the service was aggravating SLOW (took us 90 minutes to get our four tastings). All the fun wine swag is gone inside . So we went home without a box of wine and might never go back.
This winery does everything right. They allow you to taste the whole menu. Also, buy the mix for the cheeseball dip. It's very tasty.
Marcie rocks!

Lucy was very helpful. Our wine tasting was fun. We got there just before closing, but did end up purchasing several bottles of wine & some cheese ball spices!
Excellent wine tasting experience from staff who know their stuff. Surprisingly good selection, Michigan wines have come a long way in the last 5 years. Skip the big flashy places come here first. Certified Oenophiloe
Wonderful experience and very nice wines. Knowledgeable, outgoing and friendly staff!!
Just left the winery and have been there several times. It's no longer busy season and the two of us took a table for four in the sun rather than at a high top table for two, which we find uncomfortable. There were only two other table occupied when we were seated.More people came in while we were having our wine and the person who I think is the tasting room manager came out, stood with her back to our table, and said, "This is why we don't seat two's at the four-top tables." This was clearly aimed at us and I said something to her directly. This woman needs to be in the back of the house, not the front.
Love love love the wine. Shannon was so great and telling us about your wines. We will be back many times.
