Generally speaking, the food at Chen's is very good. I particularly enjoy their shrimp egg foo young and their fried wontons. Portions are a good size, and the cooks are conscientious of allergy concerns. My out-of-town friends like Chen's food, and this is where it becomes embarrassing. The restaurant interior is absolutely filthy - it is downright gross. For such a successful restaurant, there is absolutely no need for this.
