Stopped here while driving by and just wanted to try their food. It was really good and messy (in a good way). When I finished eating I was sticky all over my mouth and hands, the honey butter was a plenty. I don't know the history behind the business, but the decor suggest an African-American owned and operated business based on family recipes, which is always a bonus in my book and worth supporting. Definitely will get their food again.
I just tried this place and BAM, it slaps! The honey butter sauce goes with everything, even the shrimp! The Nashville sauce and Ruby Lee sauce were delicious! Nice soft steamed roll, juicy chicken, and the Mac and cheese was very dense and creamy. The shrimp was the best part! Battered perfectly and fresh! My only suggestion would be to have an option for extra spicy chicken or extra crispy, but if you get sauce to dip, the sauce does the work! I cannot wait to eat this again!
This was my first time trying Ruby Lees and because the Shrimp was so good I gave it a 4 out of 5! Also the food was hot and fresh. I ordered the wings and shrimp with only honey on the chicken. I liked the chicken but not the honey too much but probably because I like salty food, which is why I’m so glad I did not get it on the shrimp because baby that Shrimp was sooooo good!!!
