Ate at Portillo's for the first time today, after telling my daughter, I would NEVER purposely go to a restaurant to order and eat a hotdog! I'll eat those words, because I have never had a better hotdog!

The hotdog was fresh, hot, served on a soft bun capable of holding all of the fresh, delicious toppings. OUTSTANDING!

The fries stayed hot long after the hotdog was gone. YUM!
And, I don't have words for the Chocolat Cake Shake!

The customer service was nothing to right home about, but it also was not bad. Every area of the dinning area and restrooms were clean.

I'll be back!

Gives you that old timey garage feel. Very homey/cozy. Foods a tad pricey on some stuff. One coney dog is 5.19$. The place is VERY clean and spacious,a lotta open area to sit and move around. When you walk in theres a kiosk where you can order similar to what they have at McDonalds and Taco Bell now. Theres even seating outside under a awning so you wont get wet. After entering you’ll notice a grab and go area with different merchandise and food snacks, cake, condiments, aprons, hats its pretty neat reminds me of the booth at In n’ Out.

I love the vintage signs, and tins that adorn the walls, gives it a rustic homey feel. Kinda like your eating in your dads garage or something. Food took about 5 mins. Onion rings were hot and crispy to perfection and were delicious. I also got a coney dog, was a little messy but all good coneys are!

My husband got a double charbroiled burger and he couldnt finish it cause it was so big! We thought it would be smaller but were a little shocked to see it as big as it was on the order screen. We also got a chocolate cake shake, and i was a little skeptical when they said theres a whole slice of cake whipped in, but on the first sip you IMMEDIATELY get cake pieces, tad thick sometimes so makes it a little difficult to get out the straw but was a very good experience. Food was good, we left full and didnt spend a fortune!

As far as service speed and food quality, I would say Portillo's is similar to Culvers. However, Portillo's is a little heavy on the mayo for their sandwiches. I personally like Mayo so this doesn't bother me, but I know not everyone would agree.

If you are from Illinois and wanting a Chicago Portillo’s meal, you may want to pass.

Drove from Hartland to try the restaurant out, was a let down. The beef did not really taste like the Illinois ones, beef sandwich was not dipped even though asked for it. The peppers taste different from the Chicago locations also.

Hopefully it was just an off night, but nervous about making the 40 minute drive back out to try it.

Atmosphere was great though!

Pretty cool place.
Food is pretty good. Be prepared when you have to pay. It seems a bit pricey for what kinda food they have. I would return for the food. But I will probably not come back because of the price.

Every time I order the Italian sausage sandwich and order the sauce on the side it never makes it into the bag for take out, so you’re left eating the driest sandwich possible, 5 times I’ve ordered it, asked for it on the side and all 5 times it was forgotten, so the note is to double check your food because they do not.

If you like Portillo's in Chicago, you will be disappointed in Livonia. The Italian beef here is just an overpriced roast-beef sub, with way too little beef in the bun

Really good burgers and hotdog and sausages. A lot to choose from chicken sandwiches, fish sandwich salads and really good desserts too. The strawberry shortcake was good as well. Great memorabilia atmosphere as well. Even if you had a large party of 12, there was a lot of seating too.

My fiancé and I went around 9:30pm and had such a great experience. The staff were super kind and really hooked us up while we waited. It had been a long day, and this was the perfect way to end the night. I wish we knew the name of the lady who handed us our food so we could give her a proper shout-out — she was so sweet!

Great food! I grew up going to Portillos in the Chicagoland area and the food tastes just the same! Great service and clean dining area. Always plenty of seating.

Clean restaurant with fast service. Did not try the cake shake or the famous beef sub (yet), but the Chicken sandwich was phenemonal.
