Ordered take out. It wasn't bad but my husband said the first time he went, it was better. My daughter ordered soup & it didn't come with noodles last time (like she wanted). This time my husband ordered soup and didn't want noodles but got them. They had tons of boxes lined up & being filled back to back. Our rice wasn't hot. I wish I had a few more of the vegetables. You can pick between 2 starches (noodles is an option). I wasn't crazy about the salad dressing. It has somewhat of a peanut taste to me. The food overall was cool.

DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE!! My daughter had an allergic reaction because this place cooks their rice on the same grill they cook shrimp. Instead of apologizing and immediately finding acceptable ways to fix the problem, two different women wanted to keep telling me this is how they cook their food and this has never happened before. Plus the rice was horribly overcooked. NEVER AGAIN FOR MY FAMILY AND MY ADVICE TO EVERYONE IS TO NOT EAT HERE!! If you do, good luck. If I could rate them zero stars, I would.

UPDATE: I went in today and saw at least 2 small children roaming/playing in the kitchen freely while the food was being prepared. The youngest child (around 2 years old?) was picking food from a prepared food pan (looked like chicken) and eating it! This is unsanitary and unsafe! I pointed this out to a worker and the child was ushered to the back. I understand some parents needing to choose between child care and work but the children should be somewhere in the back being supervised.PREVIOUS REVIEW: I ordered the salmon hibachi. It was as delicious or BETTER than the expensive alternative!! I cannot wait to go back. I chose soup for my meal but it wasn’t in the bag. The only thing is, I would love later hours like another reviewer suggested. See you soon Sumo!
We have been going to Sumo Japanese Grill since they have opened in Livonia about 4 years ago. The food is great, prices very reasonable and the staff are very welcoming! You get a lot of quality food for you buck. Would recommend 100% of the time.
Food was good, restaurant was clean and service time was correct when placing an online order. Yum yum sauce did not meet my expectations. The portion size is great for the price of the meal. Definitely will be ordering again.
