Sanders Chocolate & Ice Cream Shoppe - Mackinac

Sanders is a favorite stop when we are on Mackinac Island. I love the old-fashioned candy store vibe. The fudge and chocolates are fun and delicious, and nicely displayed in glass front cases. The service is friendly and efficient. There is also an ice cream counter where you can get coffee drinks and smoothies.

Had the popcorn, white chocolate covered cherries, and a caramel cluster. All the items we got were poor quality. The popcorn was made with hydrogenated soybean and a variety of food dye, the chocolate was kind of grainy and extra sweet (not in a good way). Price was expensive. There are no less than 4 other places on the island to buy the same thing. I imagine we'll go somewhere else when we return.

Love this shop! We found blue moon and Superman ice creams here, taffy, Michigan pure maple syrup, jam with Michigan blueberries, and such nice people. Service was pretty efficient too. Definitely will be back here when we’re back on the island!

Kid-friendliness: The room to maneuver our travel stroller in here is a major plus to us. Some shops here on the island are such tight spaces to walk through but this one’s great.

Standing at the candy counter. Waiting. As the guy comes to the counter I asked for a scoop of candy. At the same time a lady shows up and asks him a question. Instead of finishing with me, he then gets an order for the lady. I just walked out. Terrible service.

?Wow, SANDERS ice cream is so delicious?! The delicate and smooth texture, rich and sweet taste, every bite makes people intoxicated .I really highly recommend it to everyone, you must try it✨!

Great service and great treats! We bought assortments of fudge, truffles, ice cream, and other treats. They were delicious! The truffles were also beautifully painted!

According to the person behind the counter, they had nothing else Vegan, but peanut butter fudge and chocolate fudge. I’m not really into fudge, so I skipped it.

The fudge was not fresh, super expensive and silly to pay so much when you can get fresh fudge at Joanns.

Purchased the lilac special today at your Mackinaw Island store for $50. It is the worst fudge we have ever had! It crumbled when we cut it. Diffenatly the fudge was old! Not sure we can even eat it. Would like a refund. I can mail you the fudge back when we get home cause it will cost me $75 dollars to take the ferry back to Mackinaw Island. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Definitely using last year’s ice cream. For sure it was stale, with ice chunks and freezer burned. For as much as it cost it would have been nice to have fresh. The workers are really nice though.
