The Chuckwagon Reviews
Was just on Mackinac this past week. Stopped in for lunch with 2 of my nieces on Wednesday. It was amazing. So good we came back on Thursday. Hands down best burgers on Mackinac. Service is amazing as well so efficient! Highly recommend stopping for breakfast or lunch!
Delicious breakfast and great service!!
Our burgers were sooo good! We had the PB&J burger, the snake bite, and a regular cheese burger. they were all wonderful. We also had fun shooting the bull with the owner while he cooked. No frills, just good food and good company at a very reasonable price. Thanks!!

The Chuckwagon offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and great food. The burger, sandwich, and fries are quickly prepared, meeting all needs. The live cooking adds to the quality of the dishes, with the cook working the flattop like a conductor leading the band. The menu features straightforward, fresh, and carefully made options, including the popular Chuckwagon Special—two eggs, toast, hash browns, and choice of meats—which is delicious and well-loved. For those who enjoy a sweet start, the French toast made with cinnamon swirl bread, topped with cream cheese filling and mixed berries, is highly recommended, offering an amazing combination of flavors and sweetness. The breakfast experience is enhanced by the lively atmosphere, where local chatter and daily trivia add fun. The diner-type breakfast food is flavorful and not greasy. While there may be a wait for a seat, the delicious turkey reuben with bacon and the fresh-made burgers are worth it. The place is quaint and cozy, reminiscent of Main Street, perfect for a small group seeking comfort and good eats. The amazing corn beef hash and the vegetarian-friendly Tex-Mex burrito are highlights. Limited wheelchair accessibility means arriving early is best, especially during the heavy tourist season when seating is limited. Overall, it’s a hidden gem for breakfast lovers and those wanting a friendly, casual spot to enjoy a satisfying meal.
