The food- AMAZING! The service- AMAZING! First time ever eating here with my wife and kids and we immediately felt made at home by Mo. She went above and beyond. A very rude and obnoxious old guy with a red and yellow San Francisco sports team ball cap started cursing at the wait staff and even waving his finger in her face! Mo handled it expertly, didn't break a sweat. As a former restaurant worker it was awesome to see her in action. Whoever owns this place needs to give her a huge raise!!!

This is ONLY based on the Caboose Bar at Mackinaw Crossing. Tequila (bar tender) is amazing! She's super personable and has great recommendations for the local beers and mix drink list.

We came here several years ago when our kids were little and my son was really into trains, and it was a good experience. The place must be under new management these days, however. The food was mediocre and expensive for what it was. The place was not crowded, but we received poor service. And the electric train was broken as well. Disappointing all around, and we won’t be returning.

We were really disappointed here. First the menu online is pretty large but the one you get has hardly anything on it. Opted for the fish and chips, the fish was dark brown from old grease and it was pretty small especially considering you are right next to 2 great lakes. We won't be back.

Menu was very limited. We both ordered the slider meal and the burgers were tasteless and the fries were mushy. As other mentioned there is a 6% maintenance fee and 3% service fee with no explanation. Worst experience we've had in Mackenaw so far.

We just ordered appetizers and they were good, I ordered pickles chips though and they were out of ranch so brought me mayo. I also tried to order a iced tea and they were out of that. Waitress was nice about it and offered options but didn't really seem to care about it either.

We went based on the online menu but we should’ve thought twice after stopping by for lunch. Outside signs still say open at 11am daily. (They were not). Came back at 8 to find a very limited menu (not what they have on line) Apologized to the waitress after ordering drinks. Told her we’d settle for the drinks and head out. Nice girl but brought our check and it had an automatic tip added for parties of 8 or more. (There were 2 of us) left her another $5 pity tip and went somewhere else,
There were two entrances and no signs directing us to the host stand. Once we finally got seated, the wait for food was so long we ended up leaving! The people behind us ordered ice cream and didn't receive spoons!
Visiting from down state, wanted to try this place. Heard really great things. We get there to find doors open, music playing but not one person working. Worth the attempt though

Very good food. Cool atmosphere in the old depot. It was not busy when we were there, so I cannot review the service speed.

Horrible dining experience. Had to request our menus. Longer then average wait for our food, food presentation was poor. No recheck by the server for drinks or anything else for that matter. Had to chase him down for our bill....they were screwing around with the bartender. Poor service, poor food, poor attentiveness = NO TIP. Even if I were starving to death I wouldn't go back to this joke of a 'restaurant'
Be forewarned.

Frozen food, all deep fried. Burgers were not smash burgers. They were thin patties but not prepared as traditional smash burgers are. I got the chicken sandwich. It was definitely a frozen breaded piece of chicken. The lettuce and spicy pickle relish were the only good things about it.
The service was poor. Our server sat us, got us water, took our order, and never returned. He came back with our food. He preferred cleaning the patio and texting instead of getting a good tip. If you're looking for good food and good service, keep walking.

Waited a good 6-8 minutes for someone to see us and seat us. Then we proceeded and ordered two drinks that came quickly. The rest is down from there. We ordered food shortly after and three other tables were sat in that time between us ordering and all three tables were served and we were not. We asked her if she forgot our whole food order. She asked what we ordered. Not a good look. This was the second place we walked right out of on this trip to Mackinaw. You are only busy one season. Get it together, start properly training these young kids customer service or watch your doors close! Over priced on all the food and drinks and add bad service and we will find else where to spend our whole next trip. I’m not coming back for this.

We stood outside in the rain with two small children for upwards of 5 minutes before the employee blocking the doorway staring at us offered to let us in and seat us. In hindsight we probably should have found a different place right then and there. The food was ok at best. It came out fast and hot, but incorrect and was drastically overpriced for the quality. The table was so wobbly that we had to hold it in place to eat. The chairs were worn and ripped. Our waitress had such broken English that we had a hard time communicating. She told me my card was denied, when in fact it was asking for a PIN. Very disappointing experience overall. We live only about an hour and a half away and often recommend the Straits area to out of town visitors. Having an experience like this makes me question service standards in the area.
