Have been here before and it was great, however last experience left us wondering about the cook staff. Asparagus looked like it was 2 weeks old and left over from someone else's dinner. Steak wasn't bad, but maybe only 1/2 inch thick, and a couple of people said crab cakes were only so-so, certainly not worth $34+? I was there on Sunday August 10th for my niece's baby shower and had ordered the Top Sirloin. It was cooked medium cause that's the only way I could get it and it was terrible..... there was grizzle all the way through it and I couldn't even chew the rest of it!!It was bad that I almost choked on the thing! I should have ordered one of tge other ootions!!
I went here for the first time yesterday for a post Christmas celebration with a few family members. I was not impressed. I ordered the French Dip sandwich with fries. The sandwich was terrible. The meat was dry and the worst thing was the bread. I think they put it in the microwave. It was rubbery and I could hardly cut thru it with a serrated steak knife. The au just didn't even help. Aspen Restaurant ~ Bar ~ Banquets ~ Catering offers quick, friendly service and decent enough good. The restaurant has an old-school ski lodge vibe, especially during the Holidays with a true log cabin and winter scenes everywhere. The food is really tasty, with hot dishes like shrimp scampi and loaded tater tots. The Chicken Schnitzle is the best found in the U.S., tender inside and crispy outside. The mushroom soup was amazing. The Bayview room was absolutely perfect for an engagement party of 30, with wonderful planning help from Cristina, Jackie, and Donna. Brenda was a wonderful server who stayed on top of everything. Donna also checked on guests, noticing when napkins were needed. The place is very accommodating, locally owned and operated. Multiple appetizers shared between three people still left leftovers to take home.
