About light cantine

Light Cantine is a highly authentic Sichuan restaurant in the Metro Detroit area, offering bold and spicy flavors that capture the true mala taste. The menu features both Cantonese and Szechuan dishes, prepared by a Cantonese chef and a Szechuan chef, ensuring genuine flavors. Popular dishes include Chengdu Stir-Fried Beef, Stir-Fried Cabbage with Chilis, Dry Pot Shrimp, roasted duck, pork belly with taro, and fish with pickled mustard green. The food is consistently delicious and well-loved, especially when asked for extra spicy. Customers often praise the face-melting spicy Sichuan food, with favorites like spicy fried chicken and mapo tofu. The menu in Chinese signals that the place is legitimately delicious, and the variety excites those with limited knowledge of traditional Chinese cuisine. Many enjoy fixing malatang cravings, which can be quite spicy, and appreciate the wide selection of desserts, including shaved ice that is icy and watery but very refreshing after a spicy meal. The restaurant has a modern, bright atmosphere that adds to the dining experience. While service quality can vary, the high quality of dishes remains consistent. Overall, Light Cantine offers a great dining experience with authentic flavors, making it a highly recommended spot for fans of spicy and flavorful Asian food.

MY wife and I went here for the first time today and we loved it. The food is great, wife had tempura shrimp and the Rangoon's, best rangoons we ever had. I had the Taiwanese sausage, very good, as good as I had walking around Tiwan. Staff is very friendly and helped us to understand the types of food. Only drawback was they were limited to the amount of Szechuan dishes, we were told that the main chef wasn't there.
The dining area was clean and bright.

Yummy food and tea! I had the wide rice noodles with beef and the cucumbers. Both very good. Clean place. Would come again!
