We're both boomers, so we grew up with A&W drive-ins. Sadly, most of them have closed down. We recently heard about one still open in Manistee, MI, which is only about 35 minutes away so we headed there the very next day. We each got coney dogs, onion rings, and a root beer, and everything was fantastic! Maybe even better than we remembered. The onion rings in particular were top-notch. They were hot, very crispy, and delicious. I'd say they were easily the best...
Wow, the food is just great! And the staff are really friendly - I had never been to an A&W before and they kindly walked me through their menu and served with a smile. My only complaint is that I hope they bring the pumpkin pie shake back before next autumn!!!
A&W's cheese curds are so amazing. Those are always my favorite part. However this one employee was incredibly rude to us. And had a nasty attitude for no reason. And she was old
