Stopped here with friends while on vacation last year at the end of August, they had just started their buffet at the time. First time ever, I had seen an all you can eat buffet of this type. The section was small, as they had just started it and were planning to add more. Even though it was just the start of it, I couldn't have been happier with the service and amount of options for the price. Food was delicious.

This was our first visit to El Toro, and our reactions are somewhat mixed. The food was reasonably good, but the service was pretty bad. Starting with the chips and salsa - they were underwhelming. The chips tasted like something you would get from a discount grocery store (cold and stale). The salsa was just ok, and there was only one variety.I got the fajitas, and I was somewhat surprised at the presentation (all mixed together), but it was flavorful. The accompanying beans and rice were overcooked and dried out, and were served on a plastic plate that looks as if it came from a hospital cafeteria. As to the service, what makes it shocking is that the restaurant was not busy, but we got almost no hospitality. The fajitas were delivered to my table, and I had to ask for the accompanying tortillas ("they're not ready yet"). The three tortillas arrived (VERY stale), but I was never offered more. I had to ask for water, and it was never refilled after the initial cup.The only thing that the server offered ... THREE TIMES ... was a carryout box. This was repeatedly offered even though we were actively eating, with forks in hands. At a certain point, we just had to laugh at their repeated attempts to give us a box. (Once again, the restaurant was not busy, nobody was waiting for the table, and they still had two hours before closing time). The final insult was the addition of a 3% "noncash payment" fee to the bill for the use of a credit card. If you are going to do that, it should be publicized in advance, rather than simply surprising the customer with it at the end.

Have eaten there several times. Amazing food and service each and every time. Great atmosphere and staff. Always recommend them.
I ordered the taco platter. Not a fair portion for the high prices. Food presentation very sloppy place has an odor to it inside I will not return or anybody else I know.

Solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Can't wait to bring the entire family here. My son had the Enchiladas El Toro and her said it was the best Mexican dish he's ever had and he traveled the country with me. I had the carnitas and they were by far the best I've ever had. See pics. Will be back!

We love the buffet they offer! Their chips and cheese are my favorite! I could eat that just as a meal! A great place for Mexican food in Manistee and we are very thankful they are here! They always greet us happily as soon as we walk in the door and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
