When traveling through Marquette, a definite stop is Casa Calabria! They have the best lasagna, and their Brandy Alexanders & Pink Squirrels are perfect for dessert. Our server, Sophia, was attentive, educated on the menu, and an absolute joy to talk with. Highly recommend!
The best food and service during my recent 5 day stay in Marquette. Being a vegetarian (including dairy and eggs) may be influencing this opinion, since most restaurants we considered tended to have few non-meat or fish dishes. Although there were not a lot of vegetarian options, the lasagna with cheese and marinara sauce was excellent, as is their signature garlic bread. Good service and reasonable prices.
I worked at the Villa Capri in 1976. I was disappointed to learn they had closed. Then I found Casa Calabria. The menu was very similar. Reading the info on the website I learned the owners shared grandparents with the Barbiere's that owned the Villa. When we walked in the smells were the same...FABULOUS. Sophia P. was our waitress. She indulged my walk down memory lane, made helpful suggestions and was very kind. Great food and service. Can't wait for our next trip...
