Cap'n Ron's Fish 'N' Chips

I love Cap’n Ron’s Fish and Chips.

Best, fish and chips I think I've ever had. The trout was wonderfully battered and seasoned. The french fries were to die for. And all out of a food truck alongside the road. One of the best valued meals you can buy in UP.

Very fresh and tasty fish. They give you plenty of fries. Fish portion could be bigger lol. Bring cash just in case sometimes their card reader doesn’t work.

After spending the weekend camping at Grand National Island, my friend and I were looking for a great place to eat, fish specifically. We found this place and left with a great impression. Sadly they did not have Lake Superior trout, but the white fried fish was very delicious, and the fires too. I loved the sauces and Coleslaw too. 10/10

Food tasted fresh and great but the guy at the window (old guy with the beard who I assume is the owner) had a serious attitude problem. Either that or he was having a bad day. I walked from my car with a cigarette in my mouth and was nearly finished and he told me don't come by the truck with a cigarette while him and his buddy were smoking cigarettes right outside the back of his building with the doors open. I politely put my cigarette out and then proceeded to ask about items and every time I asked he said "look at the menu". All I'm doing is supporting a local business and he treated me like I'm the scum of the earth.

Reviews are spot on! While enjoying Michigan’s beautiful UP I search ‘best whitefish in Munising’. Cap’n Ron’s Fish n Chips came up first. If you are looking for straight up delicious, hot, FRESH whitefish, homemade sides, excellent fries, and friendly service this is it!!! Be sure to meet Chris in the smoked fish shop behind the truck & look at the history of the place. Definitely returning !!!

It is one of the best places to eat fresh fish and chips by the Great Lakes. It's a good food truck experience.

Best smoked, fried & fresh trout/whitefish in the upper peninsula by far. The sausage is also incredible!
